Title: T04E or T61
Post by: Red Leader on January 02, 2011, 12:49:47 PM
Hi all

I have a stock port FD3S which im toying with fitting a single turbo too.
I know the T04E is good for stock ports but what is the T61 like.
Could someone tell me as what rpm both these turbos will see pos boost and also full boost based on the .ar being correct.

Cheers

i\'m no turbo expert but i\'ll try answer it for you :p
i might be wrong but worth a try and i\'m sure someone will correct me.

it does depend what hotside ar you have. the smaller the ar the quicker it will spool. seeing as the T61 is slightly bigger than T04E it would be a bit more laggy.
without know what ar you plan to go for and what trim turbo its hard to take a guess.

as the fd ports are bigger than fc i\'d guess youd see full boost by 4k rpm on a big hotside ar (ar 1.15)

just a rough guess-timate :)

not sure how much you know about turbo\'s but worth having a read of this and trying to find some compressor maps to see how different the 2 turbo\'s are.

Positive pressure on a good setup is usually @ 2200rpms on BOTH turbos( same a/r), and usually only 400rpms later on the T61.

We usually see 380rwhp on stock ports @ 1 bar with the To4E and 435rwhp @ 1 bar with our TD61( GT35R P trim)
We\'ve also seen higher, but those are the general results.
