Just wondering how much work is involved in moving the filler neck to somewhere more discreet. anyone done this? or any info/help appreciated:D(http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif)
I know a few guys have moved it to the boot area, under the tool cuddy lid.
from what i read it seemed quite easy with just getting a bendy bit of pipe to repostion the filler neck. Guessed you\'d have to make up a bracket or something to secure the cap to.

just took a look and thats what im looking to do:Thumbs-up. Do you remember what extra piping you needed and what size it was:D
make sure you still vent to the outside though!
If you run the filler neck in the boot, the last thing you want to do is have a build up of fumes....on a hot day you could have a ticking time bomb!
Have you thought about putting it behind the light cluster? Or the Number plate? You could use the same mechanism that fixes the original flap in place to hold the lights in place? Or even the number plate....would be a shame if you accidentally flipped the fuel filler neck when going past a gatso ;)

Cool idea:D how easy and practical it would be is another matter.
Presumably you guys that are running your filler neck in the boot are still using an external breather pipe?
The other thing is to consider about roll over protection....but do you really want to be filling the tank up in pooring rain with the boot open? It usually p1sses water into the boot as it is!

Fair point:Thumbs-up Have you moved the filler neck on any of your cars Jon? if so where to? Any pics

C pillar would be cool but a pain i would of thought from original tank.
The way i see it i only have one chance of getting this right so if anybody has any more thoughts please feel free to chip in.
i have a list of what i bought lee its not cheap to do though the pipe work is stainless 40mm pipe cut to desired lenghts the bends are special premium unleaded fuel hose as its very nasty stuff and normal rubber doesnt cut it .the aero style fuel cap is about 60 quid and then i bought some stainless nylocks and counter sunk bolts so they didnt rust .
diy bit
1.choose and measure the desired spot for the fuel cap
(http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/ascaudio/Photo0016.jpg)
2because of the pipe run you need to chop out the right side of the fuel cap internally and to save the flapping about i removed the fuel door .
3. fit ya fuel aero cap into place and use a 90 deg bend into the space in the side section .with your first peice of 40mm stainless pipe cutting length depends on personal choice .
4.then another 90 deg fuel hose bend onto another 40mm stainless pipe .
5. then the choice is either use the stock rubber neck to get the fuel to flow into the tank or make new so save more i just used the standard neck .
the rubber is just to stop vibration on the pipe and i think the last pipe is reduced from 40 to 30 or 35 mm but a vern gauge will tell you exactly
now the last problem is the breather if you run it to oxygen as i did to start with every time you turn a tight bend with g the petrol flows out coating your car in fuel so i drilled one of the 40 mm stainless pipes and braised a smaller pipe into it so the breather is internal and works fine .
If you are worried about throwing out fuel from the breather...we stock a nice set of one way valves....they arent that expensive (I think about £10 from memory)
Thanks for the help guys:Thumbs-up
If i was to do it Where is the best place to get the fuel pipe from?
i got mine from merlin motorsport in chippenham the stuff you see in the photo is about 200 quid to do

Not trying to be funny, but where\'s the C pillar on an FD? Surely it only has A and B pillars ?
