Title: Is my diff leaking?
Post by: RobMatthews on December 28, 2010, 09:44:10 AM
I\'ve just finished stripping all my rear subframe off an fd for an overhaul, when i removed the prop from the diff by the 4 bolts there was a bit of oil that was inside the flange, should oil be in that bit?

cheers rob

You will often find that, nothing to worry about, its where the oil creeps up the inside of the splines into the flange,

There\'s a seal in there - can\'t remember how much it is but you can replace it with a fly press :)
