the car was running fine after rebuild done away with the oil injectors
and put in 20L petrol mixed with about 400ml 10/40 oil
i no its a lot but was running fine that day the next day it was running fine
come to it few days later car struggled starting then runs for 3 sec then cuts out all ignition is fine has a spark at all plugs
any idea any 1
when i flood my engine which may have happened here, i get a tow start. 3rd gear. 30 mph with ingnition on. eventually when the oil and/or excess fuel have burnt off the engine will start ok.
On a new engine which i over did the vaseline and 2 stroke, this was the only way to get the thing going
i have taken the plugs out with the main fuse out and cranked engine and wen i thort it had cleared i left the plugs out over night just to make sure i then tried it again next day same thing struggles to start i have to hold my foot half way down then runs for 3 sec then cuts out
i cant move the car or toeing sounds like a good idea the cars currently not movable
one other thing can backfire cause engine to blow up

Foot should be depressed fully down. Not just half way, this is why our stuggling to start.
your joking ive never pushed the pedal all they way down to start il try it tomara

pushing pedal all the way down when cranking over prevents fuel injection on start up. its built into the ecu settings to help deflood the car.. irrc rx8 also have this
im running motec piggyback with this rull still apply
You shouldn\'t be premixing with standard 10/40 dude. You need to use proper premix oil.
You also seem to be premixing at 50:1, which is about twice as strong as a lot of people run.

I thought the same? Plugs out / really good de-flood ie foot flat to the floor with gas & clutch around 20 times for 10 second intervals, new plugs and just tow start not key start and she\'ll burst into life after a few hundred yards :driving. Keep it running for a good 30 mins and you\'ll be fine :Ladys-man

Yes, exactly,.... the fuel will probably have become less volatile with that amount of oil mixed in. So it won\'t fire. I think you need to try to get some fresh fuel into the system somehow to get it back nearer to neat fuel.
thanks guys im on the case im gona empty all fuel and fill with new what oil should i use and and how much
i assumed it was normal oil due to the oil injectors taking the standerd oil straight out of the sump
why did you use all that oil in 20L with petrol?
usually for the premix i\'m use 100/150ml in Full tank, Drive normal, For Random Track Days use 250/300ml in full tank, For Strong drive 350/450ml in full tank, but many liters are not 20 liters with petrol.
for example now i\'m use 20ml or 20gr for 10L of petrol and 40ml or 40gr for 20L :)
For premix I recommend the IDEMITSU premix OIL or MOTUL 710/800 2T.
I hope you understand, my English is not good :D
Do not worry, everything will be fine :)
motul 710 thats what i use for premix on mine , plus its easy to get,
OPIE OILS STOCK THIS STUFF :mmmm

yea thanks lots of help
ive just drained all the fuel out about 12 liters come out and it looks like engine oil lol
getting new petrol in few hours
who tuned your car and who advised the mix :2Rolleyes:eek::eek .....
it was all self inflicted i assumed you can get away with 10/40 oil coz the engine already uses it wen the oil injectors are useed and as for the dosage i just guest
You can use 10w40 you\'re right but i think what they\'re trying to say is why not use a proper premix oil which is designed to burn. In my eyes that is the main advantage of premixing. The removal of a potential failure item like the OMP is secondary to me.

i just got some 2 stroke oil with petrol car started up straight away then i turned it of after 10 min coz next dore was complaining so went to start it up straight after and no luck so gona take plugs out tomara and recheck at least it started yay thanks for all your help guys think i just need some plugs
Millers make a good premix oil. KB 2T.
I use that in the old 12A at 80ml to 20 litres fuel, thats 250:1
But my OMP is still enabled, if it wasn\'t I\'d go stronger premix - to 100:1 or something like that.
If you\'ve had it just ticking over on drive you\'ve possibly flooded it when you went to restart. Try it tomorrow and it will probably start......but you really need to be driving it to get it fully warmed up.
will do m8 thanks ill update tomara
no luck think ive destroyed my sparkplugs just wating for motor factors to open
to get a new set
no longer sparking just smoking lol
i put an old bmw plug on the HT leads and all coils sparking so now the waiting game
ive tried burning and cleaning the plugs to get rid of crap still no spark
only 1 spark plug is alive and that only sparks sometimes
using heat range 9\'s all round BUR9EQP plug
put your plugs tip down in oven cleaner overnight if they\'re fouled up, never fails.
as for premixing with standard engine oil... the whole point of using 2T is that it\'s \'ashless\', meaning you don\'t get carbon deposits in your engine :Thumbs-up
sweet thanks m8 try it now
Just get some new ones in there, if they are tired you\'ll only have to do it sooner rather than later and you\'ll probably end up breaking down away from home so why bother trying to save £30-£40 :Thumbs-up
Dave.
yea think you may be right
ill get some new 1z wen shops open
i just thought the plugs in my car have done less than 200 miles but they been in their for just over a year
the car has been sat for a long time
ill change them for piece of mind at least ay
