Glad it isn\'t just me who was baffled by that, Clive  Mind you, I think our Sky+ box is possessed by the spirit of an ancient evil Sumerian demon or something, it wages a personal war on our TV viewing by randomly deleting series links, part-recording and claiming something clashed when it hadn\'t or just randomly failing to record at all. Good job I don\'t watch much telly or it\'d drive me bloody mad

I have those problems all the time - I have to set things to record on both boxes just in case. And if it fails on one it\'s normally ok on the other which makes no sense as it\'s comming from the same dish. :xconfused Miss my Virgin.

It\'s 7/7 as its officially the last episode of series 15. I think the 1st episode of Season 16 starts on Boxing Day with a Middle East special and will then run through January and February.

It was fabulous last night.
One of the best episodes.
Loved the Stig baiting.
Loved the cars on it.
Loved the humour.

I love top gear.

It baffles me when folk take it too serious...."why do they never test the cars properly....blah blah blah".
Shut up and just enjoy it.

Thanks Nik, you have just solved the mysterious "clashes" etc where we mis programs again and again, we thought it was us !

Didn\'t supprise me that we had yet another Top Gear "America" to keep the yocals happy, talking to Americans I deal with over the last couple of years it turns out that Top Gear is HUGE in the states via BBC America.

Also if you look at the pictures below you will see it was punted like mad at Sema where they had these four cars doing trips up n down the Las Vegas trip for the four days all day long, put these Top Gear "hire" cars together and you have got loads o money which means Top Gear must be a real money spinner over there !

Now, I like yellow BUT !!!

The Stig comments were classic, especially the "stab in the back from Hammond"

I wish I had a still picture of Hammonds face when he thought that GT3 was gonna hit the tyre wall. Priceless.

Glad they have involved Needell too-bloke is a legend, no one can throw a car around like our Tiff.

Did you notice that they refrained from the comments going too far just before they set fire to the xmas tree?
They were comparing the stig to a rat/ then turned it into cats not being faithful, then just went on about cats.
It was like they realised they were going to far chatting to one another, and suddenly changed the subject (more than likely when the producer was telling them to shut up in their ears) :Giggle

Really?

You see i hated what Porsche have done to the GT3RS, i think they have "chavved" it up.
I didnt like the rear wing, or all the red detailing.

The colour was awesome, if it just had the red wheels, then it would have been perfect, but i didnt think there was need for all the stickers etc.
Easy fix i suppose.

Having seen a 458 on the production lne in Maranello, i fell in love immediately......what a car!

I wasn\'t a fan until I went to the nurburgring and got overtaken by swarms of them in various colour schemes and I just loved the uncompramised attitude Porsche adopted with them, they sounded awesome (although Clarkson would disagree) and talking to some owners, are fantastic drivers cars.

I really do like the Green ones with the Black wheels.

Im not a massive Porsche (should that be Beetle as Jeremy says? :Giggle) fan, but GT3RS is somehting else......deffo have one for sure! :3gears-rh

Yeah every conceivable colour combo was there! Love how Clarkson calls them Beetles-I\'m not a fan of other Porsche\'s either just something about the GT3RS brings out the kid in me.

I found the funniest part of the programme to be when Hammond says " as you can see the gull wing has been designed for drive shootings" door fully open with clarkson shooting an M16 I think and then Clarkson saying "I\'m on fire" as the bullet shells had fallen into his crotch. PRICELESS

That was very funny.

Theres a thread going on on crx uk, with people adding in how disappointed they are with it, and theres nothing original going on :2Confused
I just fail to see how people can be disappointed with it......its just pure entertainment.

Top Gear\'s format is well trodden but still very entertaining.  It\'s not high culture but it\'s hilariously amusing.

Makes you think what do people expect from the show. There really cant be too many ways to be original with cars as the common theme. Cant say i have ever seen the Top Gear boys doing drive by shootings before.

Every show/special has original parts but they are all going to follow a common theme obviously, as the show is car based!

They always make me chuckle, some more than others! I think every special they have done has been fun to watch whether in a car in the Kalahari, Bolivia or on a scooter in Nam.

I think it goes to show just how fast that Ferrari is if May can cause Hammond to leave the track by trying to keep up or over take.

I am sure the Xmas special will entertain me as much as any of the others, if nothing else for the reason that it just seems they have such a laugh and i can imagine doing the same with some buddies.

It is just good entertainment, not really a motoring programme. If you accept that it\'s excellent, if you don\'t it probably annoys the hell out of you. I thought it was as amusing as always, though I found the "grand finale" where they were navigating Manhattan rather dull tbh, just went on too long to hold my interest.

That Porsche is a tragic pathetic looking thing, those red wing mirrors make it look like it\'s made of fduking Lego or something and the wing looks like a male menopause victim bought a normal 911 and drove it straight to Halfords in a desparate attempt to regain his lost youth. Porsche styling is usually pitiful since they\'ve looked essentially the same since like 1950 but this GT3 is actually laughable as well as predictable

If they were trying to masquerade the show as a serious motoring (yawn) show cough 5th Gear then I\'d get why people moan so much but they aren\'t. Clarkson, Hammond and May make no bones of the fact that they are simply three blokes arsing around for a living and feel lucky that the general public would want to watch them get paid for doing just that. After all, what percentage of the population could afford the majority of the machines that appear on the show. No one wants to see a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Club be spanked around a track and be told how many Asda bags will fit in the boot. Do they?

I don\'t and as daft and scripted as Top Gear is I would miss it if didn\'t come back.

heres a little tip for your sky box problems down loads happen from sky quite a bit and if your box is unpluged then itll miss a down load.
problems start happening and the box dies so to avoid a £60 engineer call out do this .
1 .unplug the power cable from the box
2 . press and hold the back up button then insert the power cable again
3. with the back up button still pressed after a little while all the lights on the box will light up and a message on the screen saying update in progress.
4 . leave the box alone to do its download usually about ten mins .
5. box will turn itself off and reboot .
6. it wont let you turn it on after its switched itself off untill its ready to start up so if you press power imediatly nothing will happen .
7. three or four mins after the box turns on you can start it up and all things should be gravey if that doesnt sort it then the box is fubard .
8. forcing a download will not empty your planner stored programs will not delete only in the house keeping section will it empty the planner .
9. if its a sky plus problem like it wont let you record and watch another channel chances are your lnb reciever is broke or somethings unplugged .
10 .to check this press services . then system setup now you should have at the top picture settings then underneath that sound settings and so on .at this point on the remote press 0 then 1 then select. this will bring up the installer menu a secret menu sky dont want you to use from here you can add channels for things like bbchd and other stuff but you can see your signal strengths and if you have two feeds coming in .

hope that helps

Can\'t believe how much I felt the Mexican comments had stepped over the comedic line and felt racist. But as I\'ve been exposed to the American and esp Californian issues over the years I\'m maybe tuned to feel it more !

I haven\'t seen it yet, but I would say what I always say about Clarkson\'s more .....controversial? OK, offensive moments. I often find him rude, offensive, crass, boorish, opinionated and extremely ignorant. I rarely agree with his oft-quoted slightly to the right of Hitler political leanings. I\'ve even been motivated to sign a petition against him when he advoctaed on air, on Top Gear, the stringing of cheesewire across public country roads to decapitate bikers riding through quiet villages.

However...

I am glad that in this mind-control age of politically correct dogma pervading every aspect of our lives and being told what we can and cannot say all the fduking time that there is still one corner of the most respected broadcasting body on Earth that just stands there and says whatever is on its uncomplicated and bigoted mind at any given time, no matter how many people it might offend. We probably need people like Clarkson to remind us that we can actually think for ourselves if permitted, even if the only thoughts we are capable of promulgating are utter toss

QuoteThe BBC\'s Top Gear has been criticised by the Mexican Ambassador to the UK for a series of \'outrageous, vulgar and inexcusable insults\'.
His Excellency Eduardo Medina-Mora Icaza has written to the corporation to complain about the comments made in an episode broadcast on January 30, and demanded the show\'s hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, make a public apology.
