Title: Towing Eye for track days: fitting vs body skirt kit
Post by: ANRX7 on December 12, 2010, 05:42:15 PM
Hi
I\'m about to fit towing eyes to the RX7 FD3. However, the old girls fitted with an R-Magic body kit on the front, sides and rear. Before I start hacking things about can anyone impart some useful tips on what to do and what NOT to do?
ie. wear to mount the towing eye plate, any neat ways of making them subtle , etc.
Cheers

There\'s not much you can do to make them subtle unless you can get a standard UK spec one...which may not fit the R-Magic bumper.
Rather than have it sticking out, if it could be slotted and pushed back flush with the bodywork when not in use, it would be better.
I think I read on Northloop that the German police were jumping on cars with tow eyes sticking way out the front on the roads around the \'Ring.
It would probably be best to look at something that should pass the SVA kit car test on the front of a vehicle
The pic is of a UK spec one.

why not fit the strap type then you can wrap up use a suspension strut to bolt it too then feed it through the bonnet if you need too dont have to cut body work then
look at this on ebay

Thanks for the feedback guys. The strap type looks good. Will check out mounting ponts on the car.
