Guys, being a regular on CRX UK, i was gobsmacked to read this on front of our local rag today.

Chris died outside RAF Scampton, was an active member of crx uk.
Shocking.

I saw this on the BBC website earlier, real shame :(
I never spoke to him personally, but our paths crossed a few times when we have both been in our CRX\'s and gave a wave etc.
Seems no one else was involved.
I travel the A15 from time to time. My sympathy to Chris, it could easily have been me on that road.
In my opinion Lincolnshire has some of the most dangerous roads in the country and the authorities just do a lot of hand wringing and not much else when there\'s another fatality.
Their roads are mostly long straight single carriageways where overtaking slow vehicles has to be accomplished mostly by pulling out when there\'s nothing coming- and we all know how dangerous that is. You yourself can be proceeding quite steadily and someone turns up heading right for you!
The A15 is the old Ermine Street in parts. The Romans built it to last and it has.....but why hasn\'t it been dualled years ago, along with all these other death trap roads in Lincolnshire?
Unfortunately theres just too much traffic in Lincoln now for the size of the city.
At rush hour, two, maybe three main roads used to get clogged up......now its every single road in Lincoln that diverts traffic out of the city.....its a nightmare.
We\'ve been calling out for an eastern bypass ever since they ran out of money when the western one got built back in the early eighties.
The A15 / A17 are two pretty bad roads, like whats been said above, the a15 from Lincoln out to S....horpe is one carriageway, and the first part is on a gradule bend for miles (where Chris crashed).
The second part past Brigg is either straight or gradule bends, and has slight inclines and declines........what i\'m trying to say is, its not easy to see past the cars in front if you had to overtake (which you do as theres always people doddering down that stretch of road).
my condolences to his family and users on the CRX Forum, its always such a tragic waste when it seems like such a pointless incident.
