Post by: jgraham95 on December 03, 2010, 11:36:23 PM
Hi there was wondering if any1 had come across this prob b4.

When the car is idle there is a rattling noise that sounds like its coming around  the drivers seat. When I rev it slightly the noise goes away but if I continue to accelerate it comes back. It seems to b slot more notcable around the 1-2.5k rev mark. It seems to bd getting worse the more I drive.

Any suggestions on what it could b?

Cheers for ny n all help

Heat sheild on the exhaust/cat, get under the car and bend it out of the way or repair/replaced and snapped bolts.

Have you got the OEM cat? As above, heat shield, or the cat has crapped out.

hy sorry for the late reply. It look like indeed the cat. however before i got the chance to sort it it fell out. now i noticed there is a wire holding the shield on still tho the rest is totally loose. is this the lambda sensor?

another snag is just after it fell off while i was driving i went over a speed bump, heart the shield scrape then a second later the whole engine, power stearing and breaks cut off. Do you think this is due to the wire being pulled out slighty?
