These needs to be changed on my car before I can get it road legal again. Thing is, either I screwed up, and sent them back, or Trix screwed up, and didnt include them.
However, it is Christmas very soon, and this car MUST be road legal before then.
How do these fail, and is there any easy way to trick the road worthiness test just to get it road legal till I get the new ones from Trix?
Short story is, I ordered wrong shocks, so I had to return them. And if these were really small, they are still in that box, but if they are of some noticeable size, Trix did not include them.
If there is no way to fix this a fast way, but if you got a pair that dont make that CLOOOINK-sound, PM me for price, I need this car done before Dec 15th.
That looks like the control link that goes onto the subframe - where abouts on the car was this ?
It was the mechanics who discovered it, so I dont know more than a pic that Clive gave me. I cant post it here, too big. But if you find out where 28-210 fits in, you got it :) That is what the mechanics confirmed it was, and it is the one in the picture, so.
The must be some way to cheat it through the MOT for me, if I cant get hold of a couple of used ones till I get the new ones from Trix.
I am guessing this is either the part descibed as (4) or these are the bits that go on the end of the rear sway bar (6), joining it to the hub on each side?
Number 4. I checked it up with Clives pic.
They are quite small (maybe 12cm long?) but chunky.
They can\'t be repaired as such - only replaced (c.£105 each from Mazda!). If you can\'t get hold of a replacement the only thing I can suggest is you could try turning them upside down. So the bottom is at the top and vice-versa -they don\'t appear to be "directional" so you can fit them either way up.
Please note - this is *unlikely* to work - it just might be that by putting the suspension forces through it in a different way it might not "clonk" so much. Or it could make it worse - the very act of removing them could destroy them! :(
I got a company on the west coast of Norway that deals with wankels, and they have parted some FC, and they were going to check up for me if they had any used but in okay shape just to get my car through the MOT
