what an awful looking pos.

It doesnt look like its had any maintenance just looking at the engine bay pics, also the bolted brackets holding those shocking lights in looks a ahem "quality job".

Keep looking Jeppo mate, it would cost a ton to get that to a decent factory standard spec.

Some fd owners are looking for change to a smaller piston engined car and imo you cannot get much better than a glanza, Be patient dude you will get a better offer than that freaky thing im sure.

Trust me they are not a car to rush into buying as research really is key to not emptying your wallet and coming away with a really bad rotary experience. There are a huge amount of dogs about so be careful. Ive had mine 3 1/2 years now and its been a joy to own but i do have a daily runner as using the rex as a daily would be to expensive for me personally.

iv been resurching over the past few months id no not to buy without compreshion tests and prof on rebuild if its had 1 as for the mpg thing i only use the car to go to my dads on a morning for work about 2 miles nd thn out to teesside park on a wd night so berly see any use rele i dont mined sumthing that needs work aslong as the engien is sound as im quit gd with cars so body work and michanical things are not a prob thats y iv been considering this becoz if he can prove its had rebuild etc then a tidy up and sum new bumpers etc bita paint its all stuf i can do myself but will keep lookin

Compression test is not the only critical thing to look out for! Get to see the car from cold and make sure you do a champagne test, this will let you know if the water seals may be on the way out. After a decent test drive hang around to see if the engine throws it\'s coolant out, another classic sign that she\'ll need a rebuild.
I\'ve got a lovely engine on the shelf, starts perfectly in any situation, goes like stink but after she\'s left standing after a blast you\'ll return to a warm pool of water...........this engine still has excellent compression so beware  :2Confused
Dave.

If the car is cold mate you dont need the coolant and pop bottle just start it idling with the coolant cap off and wait. A couple of individual bubbles is fine but lots of constant little bubbles (hence champagne) is a bad sign.

Also if you are only gonna be doing 2 miles each day to your dads make sure you take a much longer way there as it takes around 10 miles to warm the car up. Dont leave it idling on your drive it just annoys your neighbours and takes forever to get any heat through. Also remember to try and get it up the revs to redline once on each journey.

Are you looking for a standard car/lightly modified/single turbo/crazy 500+ monster ?

a standard car with any sort of exhaust system on will most certainly annoy your neighbour then, lol. Some big ports and a Nurspec and she will be doing backflips lol

If you are after something reliable then as close to standard as possible or a small single with very thorough history and mapping from a known rotary tuner is probably best.

They are surprisingly quick as standard due to being so light for a turbo-rwd and with very minor mods can embarass major marques  911 c4s is my best to date. Single turbo cars are supercar munching performance although i can imagine they are a handful in anyhing other than bone dry tarmac.

Worth a try tho mate,

unless your glanza is very specal you will probably struggle to get something that oesnt need work for a straight swap. Maybe better to straight sell then look for what you want to buy.
