Title: Is this normal when the battery goes flat...
Post by: cr33ch on November 25, 2010, 11:38:37 AM
Hey people,

First up ive ordered a new battery so this shouldnt be an issue any more...

A while back the battery went flat after meeting up with the 200sx owners club, we tried bump starting it with no joy... so me and my mate drove to his house in another car an got some jump leads.

Got the jump leads and then attempted to start it, it really stuggled, wouldnt hold revs and wouldnt rev quickly/high... came to the conclusion i should just get it home, drove it about 1/4 mile and then it jump into life and ran fine...

is this just wet plugs or a battery charging sequence? Or something more?

Cheers
Alex

what do you mean by jumped into life? Were you being towed home?

Sounds like wet plugs and flooding of the rear rotor intially caused by the first flat battery

You would of flooded the engine by having a flat battery and not having enough voltage to crank and give enough spark to ignite the fuel that was going into the engine. The spark plugs would of then got soaked causing them not to fire. Change the plugs for new ones and the problem should be solved.

It\'s always a good idea to keep a set in the car - can get you out of bother sometimes ;)
