Hello Folks,
I have started posting on here a little bit more often so thought I would introduce myself properly :wave.
I am getting another FD RX7 all being well next week. It is a fresh import from Japan with a few JDM parts on it both styling wise and performance wise. I have been thinking about buying another for quite a while but it is only since this summer that the interest got serious again.
I have already been buying some parts for it but to begin with all being well when it arrives it will get a full service, get it registered MOT\'d and then get it fully resprayed.
I know Martin on here (Speedline Imports) who has been really helpful in answering lots of questions I have had on RX7s and allowing me to look at some of his nice RX7s he has really imported.
I used to have a FD RX7 7 years ago when I finished uni that I directly imported from Japan using by step dad\'s agent so know a little about what they are about. In betwen I have had a range of various cars including MR2 Turbos, a Supra, a Elise, a VX220 Turbo and a range of mx5s, which are my main interest point with cars. Over the last 10 years I have owned over 30.
These are the three MX5s I own at the moment. although I am selling one with the arrival of the RX7. All are a bit different. I like the JDM parts so all of them are fitted with parts from various tuning fims in Japan.

Anyway apologies for banging on about mx5s. Looking forward to getting my second rx7 and finding out more about them.
cool Mx5s,which one are u going to sell?
Welcome back to the world of rotary
I think (unless it was another one) i saw your red Pitcrew mx5 at the Wings and Wheels show a couple of years back. Is certinally different but i think i liked it.
Adam
Thanks for the welcomes.
Yeah that would be my pitcrew that was at the Wings and Wheels Show. I have also sold it now subject to collection to make way for the Rex.
The wheels on K867 are making me moist. Welcome back!
LOL, yeah the wheels on the silver one and on the white one are watanabes. On the silver one they are negative 13 offset and 9\' and 8.5\' to fill the arches.
The FD RX7 arriving shortly is also a wide body so will fit with the 2 mx5s.
Fair play-like them alot. Look forward to seeing the 7.

Yeah, I hate it :rollin Not that keen on marmite either. Sorry, but the outside looks like a slightly melted Dutton Commander and the inside looks like Liberace\'s smoking jacket :2Confused However....

...no need to apologise cos the other two look utterly awesome :D. Definitely more and more tempted to trade my bike against an MX-5 :o. Welcome back to the club, hope you find a good Rex soon :Thumbs-up
nice mk1 mx5 :god
Thanks for the welcome back folks.
The pitcrew is marmite. When I first saw one I was like what a waste of a mx5 but I saw some others and changed my mind over the years. Like martmite it is very much love it or hate it!
The MX5 is alot of fun and the turbo one surprises quite a few people and when I took it to Japfest a few years back had a few drivers of quicker cars come up and ask what it was about as were surprised how well it went. The white carb\'d car sounds a bit like an old mk1 escort rally car but upsets the neighbours as its noisy.
You can pick up a mx5 pretty cheap these days. Only thing to watch for is the rusty sills, arches and on the earlier cars problems with the short nose crank engine. Pretty much like I guess the rx7s, the modded ones are worth more broken then sold as complete cars.
The car I have agreed to buy in principle is from Speedline Imports. I have known Martin from Speedline Imports for a while now and have to say Martin has been really helpful and has the patience of a saint based on the number of questions I have asked recently (thanks mate).
The car is subject to change a little as not sure what parts will stay or go once it arrives but it is the speedline bumblebee I have agreed to buy.

Plan is all being well to get it sprayed black once it is back. A quick photoshop gives a brief idea. Will be gloss black though as opposed to the satin finish shown.

I have a few ideas of what I want to do. One thing that I should have not done is earlier this year I had a set of mazdaspeed seats and a set of Recaro RZ seats but sold them as already have Recaro RZs in the mx5s, although one is a SPG. Wish I had kept a set now as would have been a nice early present for the car.
Yeah, Martin always provides top service, and the Bumblebee looks to be a good quality car. Almost be a shame to lose the two-tone on it, but I guess it\'s easy to say that if it\'s not your car, if it was mine I\'d probably want to cahnge it pretty fast too :rollin
