Standard Wheel Specs, Rims - OEM RX8 5 spoke, 18*7j et50 Tyre - Bridgestone Potenza 225/40/18
The wheel and tyre setup seems pretty stable, although the back can skip a little on launch, a staggered setup should improve this. Proposed future set up Rims - Front, 19*8.5j, Rear 19*9.5j Tyre - Front, 225/35/19 Rear 255/35/19 probably Nitto or Toyo
Have been looking at these Riviera wheels, (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jE0n16EpG2U/TEQo7Uc-t0I/AAAAAAAAAE0/E7fXrri5Y9Q/s1600/Riviera+1.jpg)
They fit the specs and have 2.5inch lip front and 3.5inch lip rear with an offset of 35, these should give the car a much more aggresive stance, Possibly may look a little VIP too. For Track Days ill probably be looking at some "Time attack" style 5 or 6 spokes like Advans.
First few things to car, gave it a good clean and Valet Both the exhaust pipes were filthy, (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jE0n16EpG2U/TEQpe0o6vwI/AAAAAAAAAFE/IbIXBUWaGoU/s1600/Exhaust+1.jpg) (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jE0n16EpG2U/TEQpqTDdlrI/AAAAAAAAAFM/ITz2rt1iNVg/s1600/Exhaust+2.jpg) Although they cleaned up well, I think I\'ll be looking for a new backbox, with 4" pipes rather than the standard 2.5"
Have a quick look at my blog for more pics. http://fitmentcollective.blogspot.com/
October
Fair sized update on the RX8, Got Some new shoes, Fates in 8j and 9.5j flavour et35. Wearing bridgestone potenza 225/40/18s offest and width work pretty well. maybe some spacers but unsure.
Coilovers are next to sort the arch gap but before that; I\'ve bought and fitted a ToyoSport CatBack exhaust, which gives a pretty good tone all the way through the rev range, (sports cat soon?)
The car is currently in the bodyshop getting smoothed rear and front, So no badges all round. not many RX8\'s with this done i think?
Some pics of the wheels and the exhaust, iPhone quality sorry. HQ pics will be shot when car is back from paint shop ^_^
Pip.

sweet. I havn\'t seen many rx8\'s with decent wheels and fitment at all. Those riviera wheels look nice too.
If you\'re going decat, have you thought about going for a decent manifold too? Not sure about the 8\'s, but on the EGi\'s this is where a lot of power is to be had

Nice build Though i am not a fan or extremly stretched tyres on rims to me they just look a little too boy racer, just my opinion but saying that i have 225/45/18\'s on a 8.5 " rim so they are slightly stretched but nothing extreme. You have reported bad traction on the Bridgestone tyres i would suspect that thay would be the original RE040\'s that have had bad reviews over on the RX8OC however if they are the RE050\'s then i am surprised.
Rims look nice and are totally different to anything i have seen fitted to the RX8 so far. may not be to your taste but may i suggest looking in to some stainless strakes to finish off the gills behind the front arches?

Welcome to MRC Pip! :wave
Your 8 is starting to look very nice - those alloys are really different and I like them. :Thumbs-up
It is amazing what polishing your pipes can do. ;)
What are you planning to do about a front plate? I\'m driving mine around without one at the moment - done it before and never had a problem.
Looking forward to seeing how your build progresses.

i\'ve been looking at strakes. i like them, will probably pick a set up after i get my coilovers etc. not had any problems with traction really, just on launch all sorted now. I was just being a bad driver :Giggle Cheers for compliments on wheels.

:waveHi there! Looking good - and you have the fastest colour too :D.
I hope to see you and your car at one of the MRC trackday events sometime soon. We typically get 10-20 rotaries to each event (mix of 7\'s and 8\'s), but interest is growing, and I\'d like to see us break the 20 barrier next year.
If you haven\'t seen the trackday thread, have a look in THIS SECTION (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=38)
We\'ve got SIXTEEN rotary powered cars going to Brands Hatch on Dec 3rd (but that event is now sold out), and THIRTEEN going to Oulton Park next week (places still left).
These are always great on-track and social events too!
