What happened ?
Peaks and troughs.
It\'s hard to say for sure. For whatever reason most of the people that used to be here a lot no longer are and they\'ve been replaced by people who either buy a car and sell it within a few weeks when it costs them money or people who just don\'t want to pay for membership and dont seem to have much interest in keeping the club as such going, just want answers to specific problems and then move on
I can understand that Nik, seems logical. Shame as this used to be a really thriving community.
yes I agree with Nik, I seem to post more on FDUK at the moment as the core members on there has not changed that much in recent years
Sad but true. At the end of the day whilst I love the rotary engine as a general concept, my car is an FD and I\'m primarily interested in things affecting FDs. If every other FD owner is on a different forum, some through choice, some through circumstances dictating it, then I have to be there too. Still dedicated to MRC and will continue paying my subs as long as it\'s here, but the "clientelle" does seem to have changed markedly the last while
Generally it seems as if a lot of forums are quiet at the moment?
Certain sections of this forum are very active, others less so. I guess its just swings and roundabouts?
We need some of you lot to put together some more amazing projects and threads - that\'ll get the other sections buzzing again :)

Brett, nice to talk to you again. Do you think the club can lend me the money to get my FD back on the road ?:Party
That would make an excellent project thread lol :chat
Erm.... only if we can up the subs to about £300p/p - and if we do, I want first dibs to get the Montrose sorted :Giggle
From what I\'ve seen alot of the big forums are quiet at the moment, think it\'s just the time of year?
Jono
Yep just about every forum im on atm is very quiet and has been for about a month :\\
Indeed, most forums are quiet. There\'s not a lot going on though. There aren\'t many shows to go to, it\'s the off season for trackdays and unless you\'ve got a nice big warm garage, that project you\'ve been working on is less appealing on a cold winter evening than in the summer. Plus with Christmas coming up, finance that gets plied onto the car gets diverted to other areas such as Christmas Presents for the nearest and dearest.
I don\'t have a FD yet, but I\'m thinking about getting a paid subscription, even though I\'m overseas. Just a little something to help the RX community, and a way o saying thanks for sharing knowledge.
And here in NL most forums are quiet at the moment too.
It may be something to do with this month is the "christmas pay" month so myself and many others are pumping the hours in and dont have a lot of time for being online( unless of course you are on the net at work like i am now).
A wild guess but,
not sure about other people but not having a rex so i am not contributing to " so and so is broken.. help" threads lol
Is yours still broken Liam? Or have you given up?????
Quote from: Jit;725282Is yours still broken Liam? Or have you given up?????
Yeah, WTF ? Thought it really was "nearly there" this time?
still broken!
overheating probs along with the usual same shiit different day =/
was ment to pick it up today but paint / body work was still not finished and he only found the overheating problem today as he said it didnt show up before despite it always happening to me when i had it for the 2 days.
Lol. You give me hope, Liam. As long as you still own your FC I\'m not the unluckiest rotary owner in the world :rollin
Unlucky? Nik - yours is bad luck. Liams looks like pure incompetence which theres no place for. Afraid to say it but this matter would have been in small claims a long time ago if it were me! This wait in unacceptable even with bronco bill on board

haha true! though you have a good team behind you to help. Jason doing a rebuild overnight to get it ready for RS is amazing!

who\'s bronco bill? have arranged that if he can not sort it out by the 13th nov then he will pay for it to be taken to a specialist to investigate & rectify the problem. I have a feeling its a pinched water seal or similar but he said he has pressurised it and there are no leaks. Reason i think this is when the car is on idle with rad cap off, the water bubbles away, if there is no exhaust gasses then the water should be pretty calm under 50 degrees as the thermostat is not open and water is not boiling, just warm.
if the engine pops a hose off twice due to pressure / overheating would that damage the water seals / engine? or should i be concerned about any engine part?
QuoteAfraid to say it but this matter would have been in small claims a long time ago if it were me!
If you think you have just cause you may consider a Small Claim the sensible route to take.
I’m pretty sure most of know that L18M’s car is with J
ames McCarthy aka Full Flow Customs – previously J.M GarageI think it’s about time I went public regarding my 10 month [so far] involvement with the above
James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs.
If I went into all the detail the post would be several pages long, so I’ll summarize. If anyone would like all the detail drop me a pm with an email address and I’ll sent it.
Following
James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs failing to carry out what they said they would when they said they would do it I issued a Small Claim against them to recoup the money I had spent directly associated to an engine I purchased in Jan this year that it was agreed would be repaired by
James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs at no cost to me.
On receipt of my claim James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs issued a counter claim for slightly les than the amount I was claiming.
My claim was for consequential loss.
J
ames McCarthy – Full Flow Customs claim was for parts and labour involved in trying and failing to fix the engine.
I felt their claim was a scare tactic with no real substance and wasn’t surprised to get an email from
James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs “adviser“ saying that if I dropped my claim they would drop theirs.
So J
ames McCarthy – Full Flow Customs having failed to get the case moved to their locality drove up from somewhere around Croydon the Birmingham for the Court Hearing.
My claim was upheld as ‘Breach of Contract’ the counter claim by
James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs being dismissed.
Then having their application for Appeal refused J
ames McCarthy – Full Flow Customs were ordered, by the Court to pay me the amount of money decided by the Judge on or before 26th Oct.
Did J
ames McCarthy – Full Flow Customs pay – well the 26th came and went. What do you think.
It isn’t over yet.
The above is fact as presented in Court.
Would I go anywhere near James McCarthy – Full Flow Customs again…………………………………………………………..
John
Since been told my engine needs to come back out as CO2 is in the cooling system. Kinda guessed that with my limited knowledge.
Hey ho, another week, another wait.
back on topic, another reason why i seldom post much on here is in the past my posts have been too rude in the \'funny joke section\' and gets removed (my own fault i guess lol) or other posts i do post up, some may take it as being offensive / bad mouthing a third party when i merely was expressing my own feelings towards the subject of my own car which gets me in trouble lol
so personally i need to think carefully be for i post silly things.
:)
i think more and more people are buying everyday cars with the costs of living going higher, the price of petrol does not help and i think apart from those with lots of disposable income, many people will leave the performance cars and buy a daily driver.
That applies not just to the rotaries but all others too
It does seem a bit quiter but i think alot of people are having to sell or stop using theres to save money at the moment i should imagine the ford mondeo tdci forum is doing a roaring trade at the moment;)
bet the Punto forum has over millions of members now !!!!:driving
