I like the factory 12at..... same it\'s the other side of the world!
Surprising there\'s so many sa22,s,the very 1st of them 1979,ers around.
They seem pricey, anyone know how many NZ$ to the pound.
& the answer is 2.1

1 NZ$ = .47p
I just saw a 16230 NZ$ car and it converted to about £7500!
Original unmolested cars fetch top money over there cause there are hardly any left.... most have been customised now.
Maybe all cars are expensive in NZ?
When I sold my red car I had a phone call from a guy in NZ called Jason Powrie who most Kiwi 1st gen owners will have heard of. He\'d owned an awesome customised 1st gen that he\'s since sold on and wanted another. he was telling me how difficult to get an original unmolested car and how expensive they were over there.
Sadly for Jason, I\'d taken a deposit on the car the night before which was a shame, having seen his work I\'d have loved him to have bought it.
$2000 for a rolling shell, you\'d get a good roadworthy one for that over here. Crazy.
It is true that all cars are dear down under but aren\'t there some fantastic SA/FBs\' there - wow what condition they are in!
We have a cousin in Canberra (aus act) and he has tried to source some door seals for me but these would cost more than imported USA parts before freight is added. In 1986 & 88 there were an lot of SA/FB cars around in aus but by 1996/98 they had all but disappeared - must hve been in their 2/3 car garages collecting red backs & possums.

Nup, Cars are dirt cheap in NZ. We\'re the biggest importer of Jap used cars so you get all models and all types. Nowadays RX\'s are so expensive becuase of demand.
All RX\'s now have either been thrashed or crashed as the saying goes. Burnout comps are regular weekend passtime in NZ. And theft of them is a major too. I had one RX7 nicked, and my other attempted to be stolen at least once a week.
Great Scene though. Our RotorNats show is one of the best in the world!

Ok so their highly priced due to demand in NZ.
Fb\'s gain good prices in Oz & US,but in UK,no not really, wonder why that is?:2Rolleyes

Does anyone know what the complexities and costs are in respect of shipping a car to NZ
Not just transportation costs to consider, there is also the risk of importing seeds, insects, possible changes to ecu set up etc; etc; - wouldn\'t think twice about that one blue.
:Hammer
Ramon did it only this year. Shipped an S2 to NZ.

I doubt Ramon will feel very inclined to offer his advice on this now.

 Seeds & insects, what that all about Chico ?
Ramon, drop me a line please I may be interested in exploring this possibility, did it go well ? any major hiccups /
My only reservation might be the loss of a good 1st Gen abroad
Don.
The aforementioned Jason Powries car.... nice or what?

Attention to detail,is just stunning.
it\'s just awesome isn\'t it? Even the lazy eye conversion looks the dogs
I likey those twin headlights-I think they\'re converted from an MX5 kit.
Definitely a very nice motor and them lights are simply ....:cool
Jason\'s car is absolutely stunning...and yes, that headlight conversion is perfect :)
looks very neat in the engine bay without wiring running everywhere
here\'s an interesting thread for the \'13bt into a 1st gen\' guys....

.
Good thread there Ian, lots to soak in :)
Though I have to say it looked much more aesthetically pleasing in the engine bay with the 12a bridge than the 13bt!
Yeah I\'m following this build-like the way his manifold positions the turbo.

Yeah, I like the minimal look of the simple 12a setup as well....very neat and tidy

We treasure our country and MAF(ministry of argriculture and fisheries) take a dim veiw of anything unwanted coming into the country that may harm or flora and fauna. There are "last chance bins" at international airports for any fruit, veg etc to be discarded before customs. Perhaps we should be able to put some people in them also that we dont want in the country:cool

I\'ve never seen this either, looks immaculate.
What do u think of the triple exhaust?
I saw that exhaust in a magazine article in the E-book on Hurley triple rotor cars... doesn\'t do anything for me \'looks wise\' to be honest but that triple rotor lump must be the dogs and that car is gorgeous.

Is it just me who really doesn\'t like leather in cars?
I dunno what it is, but I much prefer fabric seats and suede rimmed steering wheels and plastic/metal/flocked dahsboards?
Like the side shot of the red one, looks a lovely colour, both those two have got slightly oversized wheels for my taste though.

Yeh those southern states really are gorgeous and need to be kept that way. I support any measures they take to maintain the purity and uniqueness of their habitat and wildlife - this includes the manner in which they monitor, quarantine and segregate goods and livestock to prevent potential risks from entering their \'space\'. The way in which they control who can enter their countries is brilliant - it\'s a shame this country doesn\'t do the same.

A very fine example of this awesome motor. Is this a UK car?

Nope! Freezing cold all winter, Betty Swollocks all summer, slide around like a greased Hagfish on clingfilm whatever the weather. Leather belongs on cows or in Ikea, not in car interiors :Giggle

yes, registered Dec 1985 and currently licensed.

The reg plate looks UK style but wasn\'t sure if it may have been either an aus or nz one - couldn\'t work out the car types in the photo backgrounds.Either way it doesn\'t really matter, still a \'ell of a car.:cheers

apart from the wheels, it\'s an absolute dead ringer for my old S3, C131 JUK... right down to the glass roof.

........ and you got rid of it ??
It did remind me of Ian\'s red kitted out Fb.
It is UK registered,u can tell by cars around it & the rows of identical terraced/semi\'s.
Strange you\'d think the owner of a car like that would find his way here or the other forum,i would if i had it!

Just what I was thinking. If you go into the Facebook page behind the red car there\'s some other UK cars as well as overseas.
The Red One AOG I know already and the Savannah CPA is well publicized. New to me are that white S2 BUZZZN and also a partial Reg one EKC.
BUZZZN could just be a plate for the dragstrip....Pod?
