Title: out with the old in with the new
Post by: steve garbutt on October 27, 2010, 08:23:44 PM
Well most of you will know the PP motor has been pulled from my car as i couldn\'t keep funding it.
So in went a street port, motor has now been run in on stock twins and fairly stock mods, so now its time to start to mod it again :D

1st up is an excessive lim :D

Cool, I\'ve got the xcessive setup to go on too. Where did you get your rail fittings from?

Np, got the injectors so just need to get the fittings and I\'m good to go. Nice bit of kit isn\'t it?

Yes fantastic piece of kit :D
It wouldn\'t be hard to make a fuel rail, the fuel rail you can buy to length then its just a matter of tapping both ends and drilling the holes for the injectors.
There are drills available specifically made for drilling the holes for injectors.

Started working on the uim
I know there are a lot of arguments for and against.
this is the uim just after removing the butterfly\'s and the big hole it left

This is after bunging the hole and a little bit of porting of the uim.

After tapping and popping a bolt in the hole in the side of the uim by the butterfly\'s, i then made a blanking plate so it cant work its way loose.

There is still scope for improvement as can be seen through the throttle body when attached to the uim and opened up, but for now i think ill keep it as is.

BTW cleaning and polishing of the uim is not yet finished, but removing metal is.
Inside uim is also yet to be cleaned up.

Just found this interesting thread Steve.

What do you expect these mods will deliver ? Increased Hp or better response ?

Better response and maybe a little increase in bhp Chris.
BTH in theory it should flow a lot better than my previous setup so figures crossed.
Im sticking with the street port and fitting something nice when it comes to water/meth inj.
So im going to be pushing it hard next year :D
