Saw a little snippet of it this morning, sky news have been given access to a group of Taliban and have to say, it was pretty damn scary. Ied\'s planted in a matter of mins, remote detonated by spotters as the taliban blend back into society.
Im not quite sure how a war can be fought against them, it really makes you think, how and what is the point!
Also they speak about the fact that a majority of their funding for weapons etc comes from UK muslims! Very frustrating and very frightening!
i just cant understand how sky can find the taliban but neither our and the US intelligence can find them.
It seems we cant find them as it would be like me finding you in the middle of Newcastle. If your dressed the same as civilians, how can you positively identify. I remember the Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, firing on some Taliban and then they lay down their arms and just walk about with the others.
I was watching this - it is very scary but also fascinating to see how they operate. The worst part was the men who want to leave the Taliban – they were saying that only about 60% are safe, the rest are probably dead by now.

Counter Terrorist Financing is a big part of my job but it’s so difficult. If you want to send money to your family in Afghanistan how does the bank know where the funds will end up?

You cant win a guerrilla war, neither side can ultimately win, the guerrilla tactic is for the oppositions will eventually breaks and gives up.
The best hope is for the Allies to create safe havens in afghanistan train up the local police force and then go home tbh It will take a culture change amongst the people living in Afghanistan to have peace and I dont think it will happen, this will go on for years.
The UK has to stop thinking it can be the World Police, we dont have the money and power anymore, its a waste of human life. We cant fix everything.
Its not really a war. We have invaded a country. some of the occupants are resisting the invasion and some are accepting the invasion. I try not to get sucked into the whole "getting into the minds of the enemy" thing. We had a resistance in WW2 which would have been similar in many ways to the talibans operation if the germans had landed. If we invade a country we get what we get. It works both ways.
yeah Blitz thats right.
Im glad they showed us there TTP\'s. We found far to many of them last time we went and its getting worse :(
Afghanistan has always been an incredibly ....ed up place that has been used as a political football since the 70\'s, by everyone from the old Soviets to the Yoo-Ess-Ay.
the Taliban is our problem, not Afghanistan. from seeing how the Taliban works i think we should just leave, save our men and our money, then let the Americans get on with all that black ops subterfuge crap they love.
