Hey Nick :wave

Yeah, it\'s a looker!:) definitely the best VeilSide kit so far!

Like the skirts and the rear, not quite so sure about the front...think the \'mouth\' is too low down and not tall enough. still v nice. then again, all 99-spec kits look awesome, pretty much without exception.

think the best ones i\'ve seen are the Border Racing Type V, and the INGS kit. C-West is a really popular one, and for good reason. have a look at http://www.takakaira.com/aerokits/aerokitindex.asp?sideon=sidemenu.asp?cat=6 if you wanna view more!

No idea as to fitting etc though i\'m afraid! only that the prices for buying the kit, then having it sprayed and fitted can mount up to ££££!

good luck though! :)

Hi mate,

I been looking at bodykits as well.
It\'s worth checking out Gary\'s site here
g11ary (http://www.rotarytarts.co.uk)

The D1 kit is pretty reasonably prices and I de like it as well.  You lucky git finding a picture in the right colour as well.:p

I still prefer the Cii nose, but do like this one.  The skirts are clean and the back is spot on.

Don\'t know about fitting, something that\'s on my list of things to try and pick peoples brains about on Monday.

Heh, heh, heh.

Have you seen this one?! That\'d do nicely (http://www.takakaira.com/asp/table.asp?id=824&cat=1&prodid=MNnJkKkfhGielHg)
just found it and think I\'m sold on the fact it\'s cheaper than the Cii.  Which is too far from my price range atm.
Like the aluminium wing at the front.

Gonna hold off doing anything for a little bit myself till I can get to a bodyshop with the works.  bodykit, aero mirrors and all.
Want the Knightsports headlight kit on *This Page* (http://www.takakaira.com/asp/table.asp?id=598&cat=1&prodid=STtPqQqlnMokrNm) too but it ain\'t cheap at $860

Shark... Where did you get that large picture of the awesome Veilside CII bodykit?!

Otherwise that is only one of the very few boykits I like for the RX-7! :D

I was definately thinking of the Veilside D1 front bar to match my RE-A widebody,

It has built in canards which are nice but
after thinking about it seriously and seeing it in the flesh.

It is VERY very long in the front. and the Splitter is VERY low.

I dont think it would last long at all.

Anyway.

this was my photochop of the kit blended with my parts.

Wow, that looks like it was built for it! nice work on the \'photochop\' too! Is it hard to do things like that?

Don\'t mean to cause any disturbance, but i personally think both of the Combat kits are getting a little bit old. I know the word subtle isn\'t really the most accurate one to use when talking about kits, but I feel the older VS ones are a bit TOO extreme. I like the newer one better as it leaves more of the cars beautiful lines intact. The CII almost changes the cars front appearance completely. I guess though that some people like it for that exact reason! All subjective at the end of the day. :)

Anyone else think the D1 resembles mazdaspeed\'s Touring Kit R-Spec? Speaking of mazdaspeed...what do you guys think of the seats on the http://www.mazda.co.jp/mazdaspeed site? On the bottom-left?

Interested that you\'re looking at the Knight Sports headlight kit, you not fancy one of the sleek light kits? I know they\'re much more expensive than even the one you\'ve seen...think they make the world of difference! Anyone know how much the RE-A kit is? Think it\'s even more than the C-West one, but not sure!

XXX - I got the Cii pic Here (http://www.nemesisperformance.co.uk)

I agree that it\'s pretty aggressive and could ruin the lines on some cars.  I want to see it in the .... flesh(?) before I would commit to it.  My cars black and sometimes the lines don;t seem that clear so it may not look so aggressive...  light reflection and all that being reduced a lot (or am I talking out of my ar5e?):spank

I bought the car in black cos the lights at the back just kinda dissappear - with the flip ups at the front the illusion is complete so I wanna keep that look. - hence the knightsports headlight kit.  My lights don\'t fit quite right in the housing so I figure upgrade and replace.  :)

What do you guys think of the DAMD kit?

P.S. - Rextreme - nice photo work.  beyond a mere mortal like myself:god :god

No no you\'re bang on. I find that the darker colours (especially black) don\'t show off details of the car as much as light colours (maybe why a lot of kits are shown on white/silver cars?) but that the actual curves of the car are accentuated. I know what you mean about the illusion too...very cool!

I think the DAMD kit is very unique, with the aluminium wing at the front and the FRP under-panel at the rear. Think maybe it could use some other skirts though, not sure about extending the base while leaving the rest untouched. But looks great front on, the housing for the lights is very unique also. Overall very nice and also pretty good value! At the end of the day if you like it go with that. It\'s all subjective! :)

Oh...and I thought \'upgrade and replace\' sounded like a pretty cool mantra! :rollin

rextreme  that was a very nice bit of photoshop there! obviously a little experiened in that field.;)

as you guys say the only thing worrying me was how low it actually looks in the photo and especially on the roads here it would last about half an hour....:reallymad

i must say i dont particularly like the kits that change the front too much as i think the car has very sexy lines anyway which is why i was drawn towards this and i agree with dreamer that the others are looking a bit over the top but what the hell do i know!!!!:D

Thanks guys but that chop is not so good,

this one started out as the red d1 pic.
I spend a lot of time and is pretty good.
but most have seen it on my site.

QuoteI spend a lot of time and is pretty good.

Little bit of an understatement there mate. How long have you been practicing this kind of thing? Real skill there. :)

One other important thing, though is that the kit is very new...so not only would your beasty look unique (don\'t know anyone else with this kit...) but also \'newer\' in a sense than models wearing kits designed last year etc.

On another note, Nemesis operate about 10 mins away from where i used to live, and have a good reputation down there. We used to see their demo cars quite a bit, and Gary Gooding\'s RX-7 (the purple monster with full VeilSide kit etc etc) is one of them. Would be a good choice if you can make the trip! I\'m hoping to pay Yan a visit after getting mine, en route to seeing my old buddies. 1100 mile round trip, but it\'ll be a heck of a time! (Just don\'t mention mpg) :rollin

I am by no means an expert at photoshop.
But I can plonk some wheels on or whatever.

I\'m not really worried about being unique.
but with the mods I have I think the car is already unique
I just want the car to look FAT.
I think the veilside kits make the FD a bit long.
So Im going to stick with the something i have in mind.

Shhhhh. ATM secret.

Haha cool. Love surprises! On the subject, your site is great too...v v interesting, like the sound of what you have up your sleeve a lot! But i could\'nt get any of the gallery pics up?

and yes, the car certainly is already unique! :)

Thanks Shark ...However I searched through most of that site and I still can\'t find any large pictures like the one of that Veilside CII bodykit! :(

Otherwise the Veilside CII bodykit is AWESOME! ...95% Of all other FD bodykits I think are shit and deteriorate the sexy style of the FD\'s greatly.

I love opinions! Taste is so funny, what one person thinks improves the looks of a car another thinks deteriorates them! :D

I feel exactly the opposite, D1 is the only VS kit I like, whereas most others (C-West,RE-Amemiya,mazdaspeed etc etc) look great! My current fave is the INGS kit, think it\'s beautiful. But then again, i don\'t even HAVE an FD yet (still dreaming... :p) so what would i know?  :rollin

Well, got the chance to see a full VS Cii at rotorstock today, nemesis had one and perfect luck, it was black!

Spent a while looking at it and am still not sure, in the flesh it doesn\'t look as aggressive as I expected in black.  The aggression is it\'s real appeal for me, but from some angles it just looked bland...?  That front mouth is lower and not as big as I expected and it just wasn;t working for me in Black.  amazing what the colour can do to change how good a kit looks.

nemisis also had the one im after as well and i had a good look at it. seems to be very high quality which reassures me slightly with buying a bodykit cause sometimes i think they can look aweful if not up to scratch. they also had it with 15% off for today only!!
bugger wish i had brought the van with me!!:D

Same! :rollin …As most of you have probably worked out, I quite like my FDs looking fairly clean and stock-ish! But each to their own I say! :)

Shark... Did you take any pictures? If so I would be very keen on seeing them! :D

Otherwise could you please point me in the correct direction of where on //www.nemesisperformance.co.uk you got that lovely6 huge picture of the Veilside CII picture please? :)

I can help you there buddy. If you look near the bottom of the home page, there\'s a wallpaper selector. Click the right arrow 3 times, then pick the 1024x768 option. Job done! :D

Good point! pics! Maybe i\'ll head on over to the rotorstock thread and have a looksie!

I also like stock FDs a lot. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful shapes ever designed, and i\'d be very careful which bits i put on so as not to ruin that. But at the same time, it\'s fair to say that the right bits can actually make the cars lines stand out.

Like make up - you could find a pretty girl, but if she wears too much she could actually make herself look worse, but if she was to use make-up sparingly to accentuate her features she\'d look even better than normal! :wiggle

Actually that\'s not such a good analogy...talk about a subjective matter!! :rollin

sorry guys, no pics of the Cii kit from RS.

got a little carried away and forgot all about the camera in my pocket.  Only used it for a short period to take about a half a dozen pictures and then forgot!!!    DOH!

Was a great day though...

:reallymad hey!! Desist at once or they\'ll be some corporal punishment being administered!! :spank :rollin

But i can imagine how nice it must have been. Very special day for FD owners...it\'s OK, i\'ll be there next time! Wonder what tricks Ross is using to make those starts...normally RWD cars with big bhp have probs, but sounds like he\'s above all that! Look forward to a bit more tuning - then the \'liners better watch out! 10-second runs soon i reckon!
