Title: Non sequential or big single????
Post by: J7RXD on October 11, 2010, 12:42:26 AM
Hi all
I\'m a new rx7 fd3 owner and have absolutely fallen in love with it!! I bought a fairly standard 95 plate Rex recently with a few small mods but want to take it to a whole new level.
I\'m planning on using the car as a weekend toy, abit of drifting (on closed roads only ofcourse ;) ) and the occasional track day for fun and am wandering if I should stick to non seq twin turbos to keep it user friendly for the roads or go big single for big power and more fun on track?
If anyone has a big single turbo conversion, how do you get on with it on the road and with drifting?? Is the lag that bad??
Thanks
James

Single all day all night.

Lag depends on the porting you have. The more porting you get, this will aid air flow and spool will quicken up.

You can still get a medium turbo and keep it streetable.

Don\'t go seq twins get that single tub in there ;)

James, I have a stack of real information on these comapred back to back to common single turbo instals, take a read under my VBOX page. > http://www.riceracing.com.au/vbox-iii-testing-tuning.htm

Thanks for that guys.
So the single turbo is still pretty decent for drifting then???

you could try non sequential as it is a very basic and very similar power curve to a single setup, i have non sequential on mine and it has me sold for a single in the future
