Hi people,
My name is Patrick, but most call me by my nickname Kenji.
I\'m 35 years of age, and live in The Netherlands.
Carwise, I went from a 100 bhp Nissan 100NX, to a 256 bhp Nissan 200SX, to a Jap import 321 bhp Nissan Sil80, and I currently drive a 511 bhp Toyota MarkII from Japan.
The Toyota is for sale, and I\'m on the lookout for a RX7 FD3S.
I\'ve signed up to gather lots of info about the car, good point, bad points, things to look out for, and so on.
Hope to find a lot of info.
Cheers Kenji :WaveBye
Hi Kenji, welcome :cheers
You will find lots and lots of info here, although the search button above will help you can ask what ever you need to know and we have lots of good members happy to help :burnout
Thanks Clive, I\'ll be sure to use the search function.
Being a moderator on several Dutch car forums, I know the terror of noobs. I hope I won\'t make the same mistake they make
Still new in the rotary world, so I\'m reading up a lot.
We have a saying here that there\'s no such thing as a stupid question, so ask away :chat
Good thing that, as I\'m usually full of stupid questions :D
I\'ll put up some pics of my previous and current cars soon :)
welcome on board ;)
Welcome to MRC :Thumbs-up All the info you\'d ever need is scattered around here somewhere :yes
Ask and we will try to help out
Welcome to the club :wave

Now looking for some stock parts, such as the stock front strutbrace, and late spec taillights (the ones with the three round lights per unit)
Looks good, Kenji...and also familiar. Did it come from the UK? That\'s an RE Amemiya induction kit, by the way. Fujimura Auto Rocket Dancer front splitter lip cover thing and possibly a C-West headlight vent cover, though not 100% on that.....
Thanks Nik, I\'ll add those things to my mod list :)
As far as i know the car came directly from Japan. The speedo is still in KM, and there\'s some Jap papers in the boot.
looks nice kenji
I\'m guessing your the same guy off driftworks and sxoc?
Yep, I\'m on there as well :)
what sre the sideskirts on that? anybody know?
What are the plans for it?
Will it be going sideways often?
No, not much. Just a nice daily drive to work and back, occasional trackdays, and general enjoyment :)
Quote from: redgti;728950what sre the sideskirts on that? anybody know?
I
think that they\'re TBO Magic, but stand to be corrected
Sideview, maybe someone can identify the sideskirts?

Bought a strutbrace off Jon on the forums here. Received it yesterday, and I immediatly started to refurb it, as it was slightly damaged.
Here\'s how I received it:
So I drilled out the poprivets holding on the RX7 logo, and took the endplates off.
Cleaned it thoroughly, sanded it down to almost bare metal, and degreased it.
Then primer, and then a coat of bright orange. Followed by a coat of clear with gold flakes, and then a few coats of clearcoat.
All bolts and washers were painted black.
Left it to dry and harden overnight and assembled the brace again this morning.

Now to wait for my car to bolt it on :)
Almost time to pick up my FD. Just got the message I can pick her up this Tuesday :)
I hope the snow we\'re having right now clears up a bit.....
The parts I;m agthering are stacking up:

Coming up soon: painting the airbox the same color as the brace :)
Today I removed the ugly heatblanket under the bonnet. I\'ll be replacing it with stick on heat isolation material.
Also replaced the matte front bumper lights for black crystal versions.

i love the sa3r\'s :)
They are for sale ;)
has the Bride seat rail shipped out yet, mate?
i got the sa3r in orange, though my pic looks a bit pink(ish) lol
i pm\'ed you about the rail :)
Swapped the 17" Advan SA3R\'s today for the 18" Advan Model7\'s.
Front is spacered 5mm, rear too, but I\'m looking for 15mm spacers for the rear.
Wanted to wash the car too, but it looked like the half of Rotterdam wanted to wash their cars too, so left the highpressure washer boxes.
Snapped some pics of a dirty FD....

oranje army ;) nice looking car. Glad you ditched the three-spokes!
I like your enthusiasm regarding the car...keep it up..looks alot better with the new rims..
Syed
I absolutely LOVE the car.
I haven\'t even bothered to fit the radio, still a big 2DIN sized hole in the dash, as I love the engine noise so much....
Nice s13 there. I was looking either a s15 or an rx7.. but i heard the SR20s are really unreliable. I definatly went with the right one!
Sideways is the way forward!
SR20DET\'s can be reliable. I built mine myself, forged pistons and rods, metal headgasket, fully counterbalanced crankshaft.
Still runs perfectly to this day (6 years after the build), and at the moment it does 550 bhp.
new steering wheel and snapoff hub fitted.

Lowered the car another 15mm (I wanted 25mm, but the springs came loose in the coilovers when the car\'s off the gound, and that\'s an MOT fail in The Netherlands)
And fitted other wheels.

The black Advan wheels are in my storage for now.

Well :) Would you like to do an exchange with me?
My current wheels Are AXE 18 x 8,5 et 35 and 18 x 9,5 et 30

It\'s an MOT failure here, too. Is that a photoshop or are those wheels really that green colour?
really like your car fella but im just not sure on the green wheels....i prefer the advans there the only 3 spoke that i actually dont mind on certain cars...i think they suit the rx7 well.
The green wheels get the thumbs up from me.

The wheels are really green :)
Most people are  when they first see them, but in real life they look really good. It\'s really something different.
Here\'s how they looked when I was painting them, and on my MarkII on a sunny day:

@ StreetracerHCI: you want to exchange? For what wheels of mine?
whit this :D
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/IMG_0020s.jpg
what steps are they? 18x? and ETx?
thanks mate :)
the black ones are 18x8, ET40, and the rears are 18x9, ET45
I like your wheels, but seeing you\'re from Italy and I\'m from The Netherlands, it would be quite a difficult trade....
Diffuser in on the car. Looks pretty tough, methinks :D

love that exhaust !!
Been seeing too many green wheeled cars at recent car shows (seems I started a bit of a trend in the Dutch tuning land, LOL), so decided it was time to give the wheels a new look.
Before:
Took off the wheels and set her on another set:
Started with this:
clean the wheel, degrease and mask off the tire
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/16082011610.jpg)
Sanding it down, giving the paint something to grip to
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/16082011611.jpg)
Primer
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/16082011612.jpg)
giving the dish some color
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/16082011615.jpg)
masking off the dish, and paint the spokes
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/17082011618.jpg)
Take off the masking tape off the dish, and clear varnish the entire wheel
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/18082011625.jpg)
The centercaps also received some tlc
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j148/KenjiSil80/Mazda%20RX7%20FD3S/18082011623.jpg)
And the finished article:
Now I\'m off to put them on my FD :)
