Hi all,
I\'m about to sell my house but I\'m keeping the garage. So at the moment my garage and its contents are covered on my home insurance, but once the sale goes through they won\'t be.
I\'m also about to move a lot of stuff into the garage - nothing majorly valuable, but furniture etc that I want to protect. Plus I\'ve just had a new roof put on the garage so I wouldn\'t be happy if it burned down in a fire. :flamed
But I can\'t find anywhere that does insurance just for a garage - any suggestions? People must have lock-ups etc that aren\'t part of their house where they have tools etc that they would want insured? :xconfused
Any help appreciated. :chat
i have to admit - its the first time i have heard of someone selling a house and not the garage .. it must be serious detached to not form part of the land
although in answer to your question .. i have no idea :(
Try NFU, they seem to be advertising that they look at each case individually rather than putting you in a box!

Yeah it\'s a block of three garages in the close. A couple of my neighbours have expressed an interest in buying it off me and they can add it to their deeds. For the moment I just need the storage space.

Thanks I\'ll try them.
It is looking like it\'s not something insurance companies cover. :(
