You need to release the throwout bearing collar from the ckutch. Or through the inspection hole unbolt the clutch from the flywheel, Turn the flywheel with a screwdriver to access the bolts through the cover.

any pic to show how it works? so i have to do something on the clutch first before i can take the engine out?? while the engine was lift up and then i can see the fly wheel in between the engine and the clutch cover, but then both of them just won\'t seperate!?

go under the car and look up at the gear box. You will see a cover at the bottom of the gearbox with 2 10mm bolts. undo that then there are 6 12mm bolts that hold the clutch plate onto the fly wheel you have to undo all of them and pry the flywheel and clutch plate apart. The clutch stays in the gear box on rx7s as it is a pull type clutch if you need to email me your number an i will ring you to explain cushingxian@yahoo.com (cushingxian@yahoo.com)

Don\'t do it the stupid labourious PITA \'one bolt at a time\' method - do it by releasing the throwout bearing.

Here\'s how you do it:

no need for the mazda tools, search on the forums and you\'ll find the other methods used instead of mazda tools
