As title says, does anyone know the Cost of building and installing a 4 rotor?
Knowing the cost of installing a 20B into FD is approx 15K, a 4 rotor would be in a region of 25k including all the ancillaries needed eg ECU,fuelling,Subframe etc etc

OMG!! are we talking about UK, K? e.g 1k = £1000?
If so about 25k is nuts!!!!!
yip correct, to get a proper 4 rotor e-shaft from down under last time I heard was verrrrrry expensive.
What are your HP goals? you probably dont even need a 4 rotor or 3 Rotor
Yeah thats right..why would you need four rotor??? I think 20b is more than enough....I am talking from experience... As my 20b is capable of beating any street car all day long...Go 20b..otherwise stay with 13b coz 13b can give 20b a very hard time....Talking from experience, I wish would have stayed with 13b...as 20b is more expensive to run...no cheap stuff at all :(.....

My goal for now it to sell my Evo :D just asking about for prices, i used to own a fd, had my evo for 3 years and spend alot on it, now am going back to fd just becasue of that sexy rotary sound XD
4 Rotor just sounds mad!!!!! its like must have hahaha.....
If you search through the forum there\'s a thread about a 4-rotor build from last year - the guy was Norwegian IIRC.....
I was down at WGT by chance when it was in build and it\'s essentially a strip down and rebuild of the car itself!!! Pip was saying at the time that it\'s not a build for the faint-hearted.
Bear in mind that a 26b conversion is not far off the engine that was in the 787B Le Mans car!!! :p

The sound is so amazing, just loving the "Scoot" 4 rotary sound\'s...
Got my Ad on P.heads: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1981869.htm
After my sale am thinking of either getting JM imports our Newera to import a FD for me, still not made up my mind as both sound as good....
I think 25k is conservative. Last time I looked in the states to update an FD to a 20b was about 35k us dollars. The engine is just one piece of the puzzle. The suspension, trans rear end diff all those things need to be considered when trying to put done that much power. Good luck on this project and keep us updated on your plans.
check out pusle performance they did mad mikes 4 rotor and i think a 4 rotor kit from them is 13000 aussie dollars
Apart from pro street drag cars and that gt60 beast on utube i`ve never seen a turbod 4rotor street car. Does it generate too much heat or is it just too complicated?
reasons for not seeing many probably include:
fuel consumption
unusable power
noise
cost
effort to build
etc etc
And when you can get a reliable 450bhp out of a 13b (way more if you sacrifice driveability) a reliable 650bhp out of a 20b (with no stress on the engine) why would you need the 26b?
Bugatti veyron hunting?
I was thinking about this during a quiet spell at work the other day, but then for similar money you could go for an RST V8 or similar (ie: bike engine V8s). Still light, similar size, still high revving, perhaps less likely to pop... *dons flamesuit*
Quote from: turbo boy;717977Bugatti veyron hunting?
Dont need a 4 rotor for that, a PP 20B with a big turbo will easily generate over 1000bhp
:mmmm:mmmm:mmmm:mmmm
As much as a 1000hp sounds in a rx7 I think the veyron would still beat it. I\'ve seen 1400hp mustangs try and fail. Jokers didn\'t engineer the veyron it was class leading engineers with the best technology available. 260 mph is the limit for tyres aswell which the veyron made.
Veyron...umm 20b can easily beat that crap....I have been in veyron (hired one lolllll..) the only difference I saw was that my 20b sounds bad when the turbo kicks in whereas veyron is much quiter...but trust me properly tuned 20b as Blitzboy mentioned can give a very hard time to veyron...and this is coming from me as I have 20b single turbo and I have been in veyron...there is not much difference.... Still I say stick with 13bb...its a better set up than 20b or 26b...
Regards
If you have to ask how much it cost then my feeling is that you cant afford it :o
Carl at Hayward Rotary has built a 4 rotor and the sound of that was incredible.
Speak to him as he might be able to help you

You would have to be one hell of a driver to use all that power properly in either car, which unless you are a bored f1 driver with an fd(no offence!i dont think you prob are?lol) then you dont need it, except for bragging rights...
I\'m sorry I don\'t get your point. Lol Obviously the veyron would be easier to fast in.
How many ports is there again? is there a link on this where it list all the ports?
you yau from monster unit and got the bada$$ white evo?
i think what you need to do is get a used fd at auction in japan with a blown engine then take it to mr amemiya to build you a nice 4 rotor beast and whilst your at it get the bodykit done and painted whilst its out there then ship it over :)

:Giggle That\'s right..... do i know you? our are u a friend of Alex\'s?
I was thinking of that but i really fancy a Spirit R model as its a car i would like to keep forever and therefor would like it clean and good condition...
Plan and target is:
T51 HKS,
HKS Titanium Racing exhaust (Which i think u can\'t get a hold of now)
20b our 4 rotor,
Fortune kit our one off JGTC kit via special order from RE-amemiya.
And do the rest up to my taste....

Thats was all sound and no trousers, That was NA Adam, and it was very slow on the strip Carl never managed to get it to ran right.
20B PP Turbo is the way to go, custom gearbox with ratios will out accelarate a Veryon all the way to 200mph, then it will come down to downforce and stability and cooling after that speed, the Veryon would have it.
But no drives or has a road where u can do that speed so pointless.
0-150 is where most cars operates, and a 20B turbo FD will outperform a Veryon in this area IMO, remember the Veryon was not quicker then the Enzo round the top gear track which has much less power

Yeh i remember it going up the strip at rotorstock 3 at shanky.
Did sound good though.

I think it was only slower because it is heavier. 0-60 times are quicker, but as you say there\'s no roads where you can do out right top speed stuff anyway.
If you want to do a 4 rotor and have the money then great, i for one would love to see and hear it going.
Instead of the fortune kit though maybe try something different as this has been done now. Just my 2p worth anyway

yeah know alex,
why not just get a 99 spec fd as if you going to be taking out engine etc is there much point to getting spirit r?
on a side note, i\'ve seen jasons (super7) work on customers car and it is VERY good!

I thou it was as i remember seeing some of your post on fb, just added u there :)
That\'s true, better off buying a clean spec 99 for cheaper and doing it up from there...
Where about\'s is Jason located?
a veyron does 10.2@142mph quarter mile, so if you can build an fd to do that et and terminal it should be a pretty good match for it.
James bigwillyday\'s car would be a good point of reference against it and thats only 13b
A veyron is only just getting into it\'s stride then. Lol it would blast past 200mph without a sweat which is crazy really. Don\'t get me wrong the maclaren f1 is my favourite car but if ya wanna do 260mph it will and can do it when asked to. There\'s always comparisons on the net of veyron vs this and that and it ain\'t been beat yet. I\'d put money on the koenigsegg ccr or saleen S7 1200hp being able to beat it. Saleen has been past 270 apparently.
as said where are you going to do 200mph plus haha ???
0-100 mph my money would be on a 20B FD turbo any day of the week
You never heard of the a1. Lol
jason is down south at the other end of this wee lil island, nr brighton

An FD weighs about 1300kg with a driver (or there abouts) a Veyron weighs 2000kg. To match power to weight ratio you need 65% of the power which is 650 bhp. That\'s gnarly bridgeport/pp turbo 13b territory or well within the reach of a 20b turbo. I tend to think at that power the 20b would be more drivable and would have much more potential in terms of getting more power. I think if you are just after the 1/4 mile time you\'d end up building a tubbed rear end with a Ford 9" diff or something equally beefy and you\'d be running low 10s without an issue almost straight away. If you\'re after a road/track machine the big problem would be keeping it drivable whilst getting most of the power to the road. Veyron\'s put their power through all four wheels in a chassis designed to cope with 1000bhp. FDs were built to deal with 255 bhp, with at least three times that power it\'s going to be a wild ride.
