Title: Spark plug and fan question
Post by: Koose on September 21, 2010, 07:40:22 PM
Hi folks,

Now ive got her running again, i had a couple of queries to those in the know.

My stock plugs are two different types, one for the primary and one for the secondary.

But all 4 i bought from the good man Clive at MRP were the same, is this normal ?

Also, fans, i fitted an electric fan for a few reasons.

But my question is if it will be ok without a shroud, as im not sure what purpose a shroud would serve, and how i could fit one.

My 14" 1130 CBM/Hr fan :

I only ask this as ive seen something mentioned about a fan shroud being vital before, but it mightve been just when running the viscous.

having the same plugs all around is no big deal really....and depending on the size of the fan it may need a shroud.  what size is it?

Hi Mark,

Your new fan set up will be fine, the purpose of the old shroud was to make sure the fan drew air through the rad properly because the fan was so far away from the radiator,

Plugs are fine, you have probably found two plugs with a hotter heat range than the other two, this would just have been a preferential thing by the previous owner.

If you going to run your car good and hard like I think you will, then you will need 9\'s all round as supplied .

Hope this helps
