I am not so sure if there are many cricket fans on here but feel a post is long overdue!
There has been a lot of good things happening with British cricket at the moment, 20/20 world champions and on a record breaking 6 wins a row...
BUT, this whole Pakistani cricket betting scandal is becoming a joke and it really annoys me. They arent able to play in their own country because of terrorism so the ecb have allowed them to have a series here against Oz and then to on a series against us, where they cheat and now are accusing england of cheating...
End the series its now a farce and if allegations are true i personally think the Pakistani team should ALL face a lengthy ban as any credibility is now lost!

What proof do you have dude that pakistani player are all cheats and should be banned. How do you know what you saw on that hidden camera was not a set up?
That dude Mazhar Majid and his younger brother are PCB\'s appointed Agents here is the UK for the players to get them County contracts and has abused his possition to use some of the players as he also had links with Indian mafia and bookies.
what you see on TV and hear on the radio is not all true.
I was with the pakistani players the same night on Edgware road having some munch when this News came.
The reason why Pakistan can\'t play in their own Country is because of terror issuses. Its a same war what British are fighting in Afganistan and pakistan are facing in their own Country.
First of all i did state they cant play because of terrorism.
I have no proof all are cheats.
However, as mentioned many times, where are these players that have been "alledgedly" (if that keeps you more happy) spot fixing in games, no where to be seen. If they were innocent, just like Strauss they would be the first ones to rebuff the claims and stand proud.
And damn right, if they are found guilty, they should be banned, life banned!
Lets be honest, its not the first time Pakistani cricket has been in the limelight for bringing the game into disrepute!!

Soon as those players were accused by this Gutter Press (News OF The World, who it seems now only can sell their papers by printing these false stories not just against Cricketers but also snooker, football players etc) The PCB straight away banned these 3 players who got accused for spot fixing.
Now we are hearing from PCB Chairman who is ICC official member saying that while he was in India last week attending ICC meeting has heared from various book makers (whome names he has given to ICC) that some of the English players were involved in fixing that Oval One day International after loosing BUT ECB has taken no action neither ICC has?
Do you remeber when Michal Atherton had dirt in his pocket to temper with the ball to cheat? What happened then? Assuie players like Shane warne got fined by giving pitch report before the game; is that not cheating?
That test match at the Oval with Daryl Hair accusing Pakistani players for ball tempering has been proven wrong and been given healthy sums of retirement money to keep shut by the ICC and drop his case because ICC knew they will loose if that ever went to court.
When old Pakistani players like Wasim and waqar used to revese swing an old ball it was called cheating by tempering with the ball but NOW Jimmy and Broad does them and its called an art of bowlng and guess whos their bowling coach is now; A Pakistani bowler; Mushtaq Ahmed.
i just like to add, if the pakistani did match fix when playing with England, why are only the Pakistani players/members being punished, i dont see much investigation on Englands players??

I have never heard the commentators suggest that Akthar, Gul etc are cheats because they can reverse swing the ball and if you want me to be pedantic Anderson can swing the ball both ways but not reverse swing, its a different thing!
And the Pakistani cheating history goes way back fella!
1987 Gooch and Rana
1992 Javed Miandad
2000 Salim Malik, life ban.
2003 Akhtar banned for ball tampering
2005 Afridi banned for scuffing the wicket and biting the ball
2006 We all know about that one! +
2006 Asif and Akhtar (again) banned for steroid abuse.
2008 Asif tested positive again for drugs during IPL season
+ Pakistani cricket board banned the former captain Younus Khan and the tour captain, Mohammad Yousuf, for an indefinite period. The former captain Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan were banned for one year and fined heavily.
+ Warne and Waugh accused Malik of offering them bribes to perfom poorly.
And the latest scandal, lets be fair, whichever way you cut it, the history aint great!! And i only have to look at the no ball from Mohammad Aamir (by the way, i think this a crying shame for such a young talent) to realise that NO international bowler could overstep the crease by a foot at least by accident!
If any England player is found to be cheating by means match fixing or spot betting, i would expect the full letter of the law to be bought down on them too!
In all sports there is so much money at risk that people will try anything to make as much as they can.
Football, Cricket, Boxing, Snooker etc is in the public eye and it doesn\'t make good reading.
Dont really watch much cricket so not sure to the ins and outs of the whole scandal - but if someone is caught cheating and there is solid proof of it - they should be banned for life which might make others think twice before doing the same :yes

Hahah i can add few more to that list if you like including some recent ones but where is the proof? They are not guilty untill found with strong evidence.
Have you forgot about the big case when it went to court between Sir Ian Botham, Lamb and Imran khan? What was the outcome of that?
Only recently what Braod did on the playing field by deliberatly throwing the ball hard at Haider and broke his finger. What was the outcome of that? A match fee fine and verbal warning BUT i bet you if that was a player from a subcontinent who had done that? there will talk about match or a series ban.
There is one set rules for some and different for others.
Now, you are telling me that IPL is not a setup ran by ICC? The Chairman of IPL Mr Lalit Modi is being invetigated for match fixing as we speak BUT ICC will not call the tournament off because it has their own financial interests in it infact i think ICC are also involved in fixing games with bookies and now that this pandora box has been opened? they are watching their own backs now and put all the blame on Pakistani players.
They have ACU in place for this very reason but have done nothing.
Enjoy the final game today as we know who will win tonight:chat

Open your eyes and take the blinkers off buddy, the prove is above, hence why they got bans for periods of time or bans for life! They wouldnt get bans just because they are from the sub continent, your just being naive now! India dont have that history and they are from the sub continent!
I guess if these present team members get banned are you going to say there is no proof again??
I do remember the Botham, lamb thing, the irony behind that was Kahn actually admitted tampering with the ball with a bottle cap!
And fully agree, i hate Broads attitude and actions sometimes, as just like Amir he is a great but frustrating young talent. I also seem to remember one of the Pakistani players throwing the ball at Trott (i think) after a defensive stroke, he wasnt as accurate as Broad and it went for 4 runs taking Trott to 100, the intent was there, should he have been fined for the same reasons, just cause he missed its not mentioned! :Giggle However, throwing the ball in the heat of the game isnt a cold and calculated choice to cheat or spot fix!
I dont know a lot about the IPL, but i know the same financial implications are intact for the ECB which is why this tour hasnt been called off.
There is also a very famous case with Hanse Cronje, banned for life, so it is the same rules for all. The history and facts above are plain to see, no other team has that kind of history in the game!
Well done England...out played them in all areas of the game last night.
No doubt soon we will hear that this game was fixed too which will over shadow how well english boys played.
This saga of match fixing is here to stay.:3Confused
Looking foward to Ashes series and the world cup now.:Thumbsup!

You obviously havent seen the photos of Afridi yet then :Giggle
The sad thing for me was there actually was some very very good cricket played in the Tests, the 20/20\'s and the Odi\'s by both sides.
All the commentators i heard are like me, upset that this controvasey had to surround what was otherwise a good series. However, they are all of the opinion, even Ramiz Raja that if those players are found guilty they are dealt with very harshly and made an example of, hopefully laying down the law for any player (from where ever) as to make it clear this will not be accepted!
Which ever team you support, whether these allegations are true or not, there is one big loser in all this and that is the game of cricket! :WaveBye
I reckon there was match fixing when Everton lost V Brentford :Giggle
So after your stringent defence of the mentioned players i would be curious to know your view now after a 10, 7 and 5 year ban for the "guilty" players?
My defence for them stays the same mate.... Amir in particular. Let\'s see on what evidence ICC and CPS have come to this. They have promised to publish the full report.

Ah well, i admire your support at the very least. Little point discussing though as you are obviously jaded and will make this into some "racist" issue against sub continent cricket! If they are of the opinion they have enough evidence to support said bans im sure they have been furnished with facts you will never know. Shame really, i thought you might man up and back the decision for the good of the game, not naive, narrow minded defence of your chosen team!

Dude what evidence have you seen with your own eyes apart from what you see or hear on the news. I don\'t have time to sit here and argue over this with you. Not my problem that you are going through some serious midlife crises and want to moan about anything and everything. So best I let you get on with it.
What has happend is not GOOD for one thing alone; and that\'s the game of cricket. Not sure if you know but the bigest betting scandel in the history of the game has nothing to with these boys but it\'s ICC\'s very own backed up Indian premier leauge. the chairman of IPL Mr Lalit Mody is on the run and he is living in this country, on the run. ICC has loads to answer for? He was fully supported by ICC to run that leauge and knew what he was upto? But kept their eyes shut.
I love Cricket and If they are cheats from any country? They need to be punished.
Mid life crisis :Hammer Very relevant! :2Confused No need to be try and be personal!
I have not been personally offensive mate, just following up a thread in which you wanted to see the outcome before the allegations were confirmed!
Well they have and you now come up with some "did you see the evidence" cr*p! And no i didnt and nor have you, and now we have some conspiracy theory bo**cks thats its sub contentant cricket thing!
But we agree on one thing, cheating is bad for the game, so im glad they have been found out to be cheats and so should you. :wave
P.S Not having a go dude, as you know from previous dealings i have no issues with you!
