Being a sign fitter means climbing a scaffold tower now and again but this is plain crazy.
Turned my stomach just watching

Thats such a stupid place to put an electrical box lol bet its just a fuse lol I like how they climb up, run out of ladder and then go: hmm lets keep climbing! I don\'t know why they have safety ropes, would be a better option to have a parachute!
Whoah! Theres a \'ladder\' that is PAST the bit of the tower where the \'ladder\' finishes? lol

I work at some scary heights but nothing compared to that, it really does sap your energy climbing like that you really have to be cofident in your abilities as well. The highest I have operated a MEWP was just over 100 foot and that was scary enough.

 Hat\'s off to those guys - amazing skill to keep going and not be afraid! Made me feel a bit dizzy at times just watching! It puts going up a ladder into perspective!

It is still around, poeple have copied it and are posting it under different accounts. Type in "TheOnLineEngineer.org" and I can see it posted at least twice.
There is a blog entry on the TheOnLineEngineer.org website explaining why they took it down - to protect the worker who filmed it.

You have to ask yourself.
Why drag a tool kit all the way up - I\'d have left a set up there, don\'t think it would get knicked.

Can\'t be in the uk for sure. He should be connected to the tower at all times via the lanyard. You watch some stuff on disco and you have 2 so 1 is always connected. He wants a parachute for that job. Just how do you train for a job like that ???

Have you noticed when he is actually standing on the very top and reaching for his safety lines, he is not actually even holding on! He doesn\'t wrap his right arm around the pole just reaches down to untangle the lines! At that height, I assume the whole tower would be swaying to? Would you feel the movement?

I\'m actually wondering how they assembled this rather slender tower in the first place- there\'s some quite hefty nuts and bolts at the top - surely someone didn\'t have to climb up there with those tools
You\'d never get a crane in that high either.

Someone asked the same question in one of the comments under one of the copies of the video on Youtube. The reply (rightly or wrongly) was that yes, someone does have to be up the antenna bolting it together. They lift the relevant pieces by helicoptor. If that is true, it\'s onehellofa dangerous thing to be doing! Can\'t see how you would do it any other way. Mind you, the weight of the sections must be pretty large - how on earth do they position the pieces even before they get to bolt them together?!?

When they were building the Burj Khalifa in Dubai you could see the cranes actually attached to the main structure at the top. Apparently the guys operating them stayed up there all week as it took so long to climb up and down.

Yes you are right they do normally use a helcoptor but there still has to be someone to bolt it together a very dangerous highly skilled job which is very well paid.
