Hi all,
I am collecting my RX7 at the weekend and I\'m considering purchasing an Apexi intake kit for it, does anyone know If the kit will fit a \'92 model or does it not matter?
Here\'s the kit:

Also I found this website for Heat shields which might useful for people unless anyone can put any other suggestions forward.

Many Thanks,

Sorry.... 1993 model!!!
If anyone can offer some advise on the heat shields it would be much appreciated!!
It shouldn\'t matter :)
Thanks.. Any comments on the heat shields?
Yeah, don\'t bother - will make zero difference. The air in the engine bay is gonna be HOT on a standard RX7 - straight off the back of the radiator.
Ok mate thanks, so no way round it really then? Just want to ensure the air going through the filters is as cool as it can be....
You need ducting of some kind if you want ambient air to the intakes in a standard car. Some people use vented headlight covers, vented hoods...
Are you replacing the intakes for performance gain or just for looks?
I made up a load of heatshielding for my Apexi filters when mine was on twins....looked great in polished alloy but made near to 4x-all difference to intake temps :3Confused. Like Aubec says, the only thing that helped bring temps down was some decent ducting from the front bumper airdam :yes
Aubec - For both really although I know gains will be minimal, also there is only the single filter cone on the car at the moment.
Nik & Aubec - I might ask for advice on the ducting route at a later date, I\'m picking up my REX on Saturday, just testing the waters for certain things I want to play with at the end of the month.
Cheers guys
