Title: Air compressor at Lidl
Post by: MrHanky on September 15, 2010, 01:52:57 PM
Just posting a link to this as it does seem like a good price. Going halves with my brother on one, so as to hopefully make things a bit easier in future (car maintenance wise). Going to get a ratchet gun and a few other attachments to have a play with.

Just picked mine up from the second Lidl I visited.  These seem to be going quick.  Got a few basic attachments for £10 from Lidl as well.
Happy days :)

Thankfully since me and my brother went halves it made it affordable.  Had a look at how much these things are usually and they are pretty pricey.  Hoping this will be a good purchase :)

yea, i think the alternative is to just buy ready compressed gas.

Any idea what kinda torque you can get out of it?

also, remember to do up bolts a bit with your finger and dont go straight in with the air gun. I may have ruined a bolt or two on my car in the past, annoying as hell

Looking at the CFM for this compressor it should happily run something like this

Now im not sure to go for something heavy duty from the get go (like the one above) or something a bit cheaper.  Will discuss with my bro.

Can\'t wait to use this now :)

Cheers for the heads up on the bolts

the cfm is aroubnd 9 if i\'m correct, so for £90 thats a bargain.
With impact wrenches get the largest torque you can, tried a low torque inpact wrench and it couldn\'t even undo the wheel nuts.

Yep thats correct.  Will go for highest torque we can afford then :)
Compressor was actually only £80, and then I spent £10 on some basic attachments :)
