Title: RX8 and kids
Post by: ramirez on September 15, 2010, 09:41:43 AM
Hi guys.

I\'m considering P/Xing my Jaguar XJR against an RX8.

I know its going to be a drop in performance but the Jag is a big heavy beast and with a supercharged 4 litre V8 its a bit too thirsty for my liking.

Few questions firstly -

1) The boot in my Jag is very poor, not good at all. Whats the 8\'s boot like, room for a pram etc?

2) Car seats - are they isofix in all RX8s?

3) Will £5000 get me a good RX8? I\'m looking at older ones I think in that price range

4) Realistically am I going to be lucky to get 100k miles out of the engine?

1) It\'s not bad, the size is good the opening is a bit awkward but you should be able to get prams in.

2) Yep, the rear seats have isofix mounts.

3) £5k should get you a good private sale, it is worth seeing what is on //www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk in terms of sales, there are a couple.

4) Depends, a well maintained one should last well past 100k.  If it\'s high miles and on its original coilpacks then it may have problems.
