Does the heat light come on and stay on or does it just flash?

If it flashes three times it\'s the knock warning from the PFC.
If it flashes every 0.5sec it\'s a max injector duty warning from the PFC.
If it comes on and stays on it\'s a sensor failure as reported by the PFC (You\'ll need a commander to check - or pull the fault codes from the diagnostic port)

Don\'t worry too much about knock warnings - ASSUMING YOU HAVE BEEN MAPPED PROPERLY.

The knock sensor is just a microphone next to the block tuned to pick up the frequency of knock. Unfortunately, they tend to pick up everything else as well. Mine was set off by exhaust, dump valve, etc. Knock will tend to rise under load, but is only really an issue at WOT (wide open throttle).

Out of interest, what values are you seeing?
