Title: Turbo back exhaust advice
Post by: yiug412 on September 01, 2010, 04:11:16 AM
Hi guys

When i got the FC I thot it was decat and full exhaust from the extremly loud sound. But I found out it\'s actually stock down pipe with empty stock cat. So i decide to go for a 3" turbo back exhaust

I spotted a set on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310236556107&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

178 pounds for full turbo back.

Anyone tried that before? soundwise would it be as loud as my decat with the striaght muffler?

Also any advice on getting the hook off the muffler hanger? It took me ages some how

Thanks! :chat

Louis

Seems cheap? also looks like a huge restriction in the tip if you cant remove it.
I found the handle for the jack is a pretty good tool for removing those annoying rubber donuts, get the hook bit on the rubber and give it a good twist and push, also good for getting the new ones on.

Will give that a try when I get to that, thanks!

The thingy at the tip is removable. It is VERY important becuz without that. I got pulled over 4 times in one week (with my stock downpipe + empty cat),Then i got hold of one and never get pulled over anymore
It also stop scaring the car behind me with flames when i slow down for junction on motorway  :Laugh

very similar to what i have in my fc.
just used the down pipe and decat with a kakimoto back section.
it wasnt that loud to be pulled over 4 times a week.

For the hangers I\'d usually unboltthe middle hangars then jack up the rear box a bit to make it easier. As for the system, I can\'t see it but if you\'re forking out for something new go stainless steel

Ive been running the same exhaust for just over a year now and im really impressed with the quality of it. The only downside is that it is incredibly loud!
When the waste gate opens it sounds like the worlds ending! Ill be selling it when i find a quieter one but other than that good quality!

just put a bigger mid silencer in it, should quieten it down a bit. (i hope)
i\'m gonna try putting duel exit back box and see if ti makes a difference before putting a bigger mid silencer.

I remember starting my old MR2 turbo in my frds garage with a straight out cat back... The whole world was just shaking!!! the rx7 was so loud that my mate can hear me entering the campus while he\'s about 1 mile away from the entrance. thats at night tho lol.

just looked at that system.
It will be incredibly loud but as its so cheap you could take the decat to somewhere like powerflow and get another silencer made.

After that it\'d be similar to mine which really isnt too loud

I have the twin exit ebay special £400, with an HKS downpipe, tbh, i think im gonna drive it straight to powerflow, problem is though, its hard to have a quiet 3" without restricting it.
