Hi folks
I have to apologise in advance as i bet this has been asked a gazillion times before, but i cant find a straight answer in the search. 1991 RX7 turbo II 70k miles , what oil should i use ? Grade and type.
Mark
Are you going for the most posts in a week record or something!!!!!!!
10-40W Mineral oil is what is designed for. Castrol GTX is what a lot of people use but its been discontinued recently. I\'ve been using 15-40W mineral now as its easier to get hold of.

Im only messing bud. The only stupid question is the one you don\'t ask :)
FC\'s FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was using halfords mineral.
lots of questions but they are good questions :)
keep them coming :)
will ask tuner what he would suggest for tuned motors when i see them next.
I have seen a detailed write up on FC3S pro.http://fc3spro.com/
lots of good things on that. not all are totally correct but quite detailed.
I use Halfords orange 10w40, change the oil every 3000 miles, I would try and get your hands on a Fumoto oil drain valve, makes things SOO much easier, I don\'t even need to jack the car up to do my oil changes anymore :)
also using halfords mineral.
if you are going to use a semi synthetic oil make sure its the right type as some are actually mineral oil (castrol GTX) and some are actually half synthetic.
If you want some good oil, texaco make some good stuff, not sure what type it was. Rotechniks have been using it for years, you could always give them a call
and as for asking too many questions. Don\'t worry about it, this isn\'t driftworks
Of course the best solution is to do an OMP conversion and run clean 2 stroke into the oil injectors and run fully synthetic in the engine :)

is prof and pete running full synth in their motors? as they have the 2 stroke adaptor?
I\'d go for some decent mineral 20W50 actually. Seems to be what most of the US and Japanese guys run here. Mazdaspeed do say that good quality synthetic can be used, but they were never allowed to specify brands and so went for recommending mineral (or so the story goes).
Should note that we get hot ambient temps here in Okinawa though. Today it was about 34C and weather said it "felt like 38C" with high humidity, so even more reason for needing a thicker weight.

I run Shell Helix semi-synthetic for the engine oil, and Quicksilver Premium outboard 2 stroke - TCW3 (wierd blue colour) for the 2 stroke feed.
Im buying one of thos kits where it fieeds 2 stroke direct (rather than utilising the engine oil, or mixing it in with fuel). Should i then run a full synth in the engine ? WHat grade ?
Cheers Dave - Im guessing my grade might be different in chilly old Blighty ?
Might be, but I\'m not sure how much difference ambient temp will make to oil temps overall. Anyone wanna chime in with an answer to that?
