Title: Electric Fan and Cold air box query
Post by: Koose on August 27, 2010, 08:14:40 PM
Hi guys

Two queries. Is there a guide to removing the old fan, and installing an electric one ? IE how much of the old fan do i remove, do i need to replace the pulley and whatnot. Where can i get the parts ?

Also, is there a company that sells cold air boxes for our cars ? Ive ordered an Apexi Power Intake for her, but would like a cold air box.

the fan just bolts up to the water pump pulley.  take 4 nuts off and slide the fan off.

i picked up a ford taurus e-fan, they really do move alot of air.  just find a efan you like and something to control it and there you go.  i have my haltech controlling my fan

With a fairly large racing rad (53mm thick), a single 16" fan with airflow of at least 2500 CFM was enough - I used a 120W 3000 CFM fan - was great until the wiring burnt out

I borrowed Mitch\'s 14" 1700 CFM fan and that got me home without issue but not booting it.   I\'ve now gone for dual 12" 1700 CFM fans - just in case 1 dies ;)

Don\'t know of it helps but I put twin MR2 electric fans on my car. It\'s a 1st gen but I suppose the principles are the same...
