Title: Cat Blockage?
Post by: Grizzly on May 26, 2004, 06:35:20 PM
Is there an easy way to check if the Cat is blocked on a Turbo 2?

I have been doing some work on a guys car that has no air pump and it feels like its holding back.

I think the cats are blocked but i was just woundering if ane one has a method of checking them without removing.

Cheers

Chris

You\'ll sometimes see it fail to hold boost at higher rpms if the cat\'s blocked - mine used to drop off by ~0.3 bar over 6400rpm on my FD.  T2 might be different in how it responds but possibly not.

Thats intresting as it does drop a bit of boost at high rpm.

Did your car sound quiter? or is it somthing thats not realy noticable?
