Title: Innovate LC-1\'s analog output\'s failing?
Post by: Prof on August 22, 2010, 02:46:44 PM
As this has happened to me with mine, and after a chat with Kev at RS7, I wanted to find out if others have had similar issues at all with these wideband controllers ?

To be fair, the analogs failed after an induced voltage surge from lightning - it hit the lampost outside our house a couple of years back and took out the street light - it also started my car (remote start) and killed the following items:

Innovate\'s analog outputs - both of them
HID transformer - Drivers side (closest to the lampost)
Reset all radio channels
Reset Emanage stored map - had to re download
Blew AFR gauge

I\'ve sorted all those - and did repair the LC-1, but it\'s only lasted about 9 months to a year before they\'ve failed again.  It seems from the forum posts on the site that the analogs can be a bit prone to current in the ground wire and this can destroy the DAC chip in the controller

Just seeing if others have had similar issues, and if so how long it lasted ?

Incidentally - I\'m making a box of tricks to read the serial output form the LC-1 and provid the 2 analog signals I need - as the rest of the device is fully functional - I\'d be willing to share the information with anyone wanting to resurrect a unit that was still functional from the digital side.
