Title: Boost leak - yeahhhh :(
Post by: trotter on August 21, 2010, 06:59:06 PM
right, i\'ve come to the conclusion that my lumpy idle and generally ill-sounding-ish is caused by a boost leak - gauge only shows 0.3barg rather than 0.8 but it doesn\'t \'feel\' any different  - strange...

anyhoo, are there any usual suspects where it could be? or is it a case of going wild with the soapy water?

cheers in advance

Assuming you are on twins(?) then a split I/C pipe, or the crossover coupling are the first I\'d check - but it depends on the kit you\'ve got.

are you sure its not a solenoid valve as i had a problem of no boost on 1st turbo because of a solenoid valve gone?

i had a similar issue on my FD3, and i took it to WGT\'s were they identified it as the inlet manifold gasket (although mine made a whistling noise whilst on boost) However i was told this was a common fault with the standard gasket.
