Hi Guys,
Well I\'ve finally got my REX reinsured and I have just enjoyed an evening of cruising and boosting in and around Notts, which was very nice indeed:bandit.
However I haven\'t really driven the car since fitting the TEIN springs and to be honest they don\'t seem to have made much difference to the ride or cornering potential. Anyway the front end dives quite badly when letting off after accelerating and upon breaking. I think the front OE struts are definitely past their sell by date:(
So what are the options guys? I can\'t afford coilovers and I don\'t really want such a harsh ride anyway. I\'d be happy with some new OE ones, but I\'m guessing they arn\'t cheap from Mazda:rolleyes: And I guess an other option would be to go with some good low mileage 2nd hand ones (anyone got a set of front struts going cheap??) and how many miles should standard ones last for approximately?
Thanks in advance,
Paul:)
just got my old ones off, but well they are/were VERY harsh erm (engages salesmans mode

) that is to say they are very smooth & allow for excellent cornering.....lol, guess they will be a bit OTT for wot yer after thou

Hmm I remember you saying about them Si:), but isn\'t the main reason you\'re getting rid is because the ride is/was too harsh???;) So now they are off do you know what make and type they are????
Ideally I\'d like a nice set of 2nd hand low mileage OE front struts if anyone has a set going???????
But anymore info on your spare ones would be greatly appreciated as I always like to keep an open mind:D
Cheers, Paul

Yeah i\'ve been reading on the US forum and a lot of people rate them on there. Any suppliers you know of within the UK?
Cheers, Paul:)
Geff\'s sold loads of em. George has them, Max has them, Nick has them etc etc. They go pretty soft with stock springs.
Gets em next day. I think they go about a ton a corner, dunno how that compares to Mazda O.E. but I can guess...they are height and ride adjustable I think? Max?
couldn\'t find anything that looked exactly the same but link i had a quick gander at was http://www.rxecret7.com/tanabe-mazda.html (http://www.rxecret7.com/tanabe-mazda.html) mine arent adjustable & cant see anyway of identifying what exact model they are on strut, various code no\'s & stuff & they\'re erm orange

lol

Shy Auto/ Demon Tweeks/ Loads of places sell them. Not sure on price.
From memory they are best suited to Eibach springs. But depends on setup and driving style.
