OK, this is not on the official MRC trackday series list, but a lot of you have been pestering me ;) to include an extra event to fill in the huge gap in the trackday calendar. So, to satisfy you trackheads (plus any newcomers will be MOST welcome too!) I\'m proposing this event;
Cadwell Park, Tues, 28th Sept, full day, Open Pitlane format.
This a fantastic circuit, the favourite for many of us. Heck, we were only there back in June and we had such a great time that when I mentioned a possible return trip people have been badgering ever since to post something up :D
We\'ll be booking this through our friends at Mazda on Track, who will be offering a discount of £5 off the full price of £169 - PM me for details (it\'s the SAME code as last time for those of you who\'ve done this before!)
I\'ll be staying over the night before, and the night after, as it\'s quite a drive up and back for me. Probably be staying at the Beaumont Hotel in Louth, as they offer good hospitality and off-road parking. More details later.....

^^^ Chris, not really... there are only 8 confirmed places gone at the moment and apparently NickD has reserved a number of spaces for us but the sooner we let him know for sure the better. :)
It would appear the block booking discount is only available on certain dates/venues. However, I have emailed CD to check if anything is on offer for Cadwell on 28th, so suggest not booking yet....

:Giggle:Giggle Sorry Adrian, I had my arm twisted (but it didn\'t take much twisting!) to include another trackday in the calendar gap. As we had a great time at Cadwell, and there was a suitable date available, here we are!

OK, block booking is not a practical option for us on this event. The saving on 5 cars isn\'t much. On 10 it\'s better, but the payment for either option has to be done in one transaction, so difficult to organise. I\'ll look at this for Oulton Park though. It maybe we can take payments through the MRC shop and do it that way.

OK, with a very enjoyable Rotorstock behind us it\'s now time to look forward to future events, this being the next trackday I\'m organising for anyone who like to join me on track, or simply to spectate and take some passenger rides.
With exactly FIVE weeks to go, it\'s time for people to start booking their places, as Cadwell is a very popular circuit and can sell out several weeks in advance. So, who\'s up for this?
As this is a long way to travel for us, I intend to stay the night before and the night after at a local hotel. Details to follow later.............

Okay,
Dispite not having a fully functioning car at the moment I have just purchased my track time for this event via MoT.
Plan is for the car to have its new clutch (4th in 3.5 years use), new Kaaz diff, plus some other mods all done on or by the 13th September.
Allowing for an intensive period of \'running in\' (or as the American\'s call it \'bedding in\' - which I must say sounds better but for different reasons), I hope to have the car ready for the 28th !!

Hotel, none of us are booked in yet. Crissy and I have been emailing each other and it\'s likely that we\'ll go with the Beaumont again. There seems be be very few alternatives, but we are looking at another hotel, having checked we don\'t have to go through a ford to get to it (don\'t fancy risking that!). The Hotel were selling that as a feature - but not with our low cars!!
We\'ll confirm in the next day or two, as I need to book a hotel before I go away at the weekend. The Beaumont had plenty of rooms available when I checked 2 weeks ago. Watch this space.......

Well the new Kaaz 1.5 diff and exeddy carbon clutch were fitted yesterday. The diff was bedded in, just the clutch to fully bed in.
Have some new brake pads to fit and bed in (thanks Clive).
So I\'ve updated the list below and subject to lots of \'bedding in\' before the 27th I should be okay.
Oh, and I\'ve changed the headlights so I can see at night !

I\'m not going to be coming. My engine is due back the same week (possibly end) and I could do with the funds towards getting it back together ! I wish it had been fixed then at least I could have put some good miles on.
Hopefully it will be all sorted for the Oulton Park trackday, but the engine needs running in and tuned properly.

Makes sense Shaun. No point in rushing things - they\'ll always be another trackday somewhere on the horizon to come along to! Fingers crossed here that things go well with the engine and we\'ll see you at Oulton Park. If you don\'t make Oulton, Brands Hatch will be a tad too far for you, so it might well be Cadwell next year!!
BBC weather forecast for Cadwell next Tuesday is currently "sunny intervals", with light rain due in the evening. Temp 16 degrees and light winds. Trouble is, the forecast is for rain in the preceding FOUR days, so if that timing shifts, it might be wet! Whatever, it will be fun :)
I will make oulton on the 17th. Just need to get it sorted and quickly !

they are on a CD in my laptop but they need resizing. Casey and Hypo also managed to take some cracking images in between being hooligans around the track ;-) I guess we will all upload the photos tomorrow or the next few days.
and yes Jon, we all left the track in one piece minus a mm or so of rubber (although my track tyres have developed warts).
apart from that you didn\'t really miss much... you know, same old thing: lots of cars driving fast in circles down a one way road. don\'t feel too bad that you couldn\'t make it (where\'s the pinocchio smilie?)

Crissy - I owe you an apology for subjecting you to a white dust cloud after a few hot laps. After investigation my fire extinguisher (in the boot) had activated filling the spare wheel well etc in white powder which migrated in to the cabin and over Crissy...Sorry ! Well I had an awesome day at Cadwell yeasturday started steadily due to the damp track and tire preservation and slowly managed to build speed up during the day as the track dried up. Nicks instruction was fantastic and I am so glad I managed to finally get a full session in.
Currently sat ready for breakfast so will post some more when I get chance.
What can I say - out of three track days I\'ve done this year so far, two have been at Cadwell. The track does not disappoint and was an absolute pleasure to return to.
My thanks to Nick for the extra courage around track and the help with the lines - I certainly carried it with me through the rest of the day - and to Jon for the pit lane discussion about tracks and cars (even though he was here to deliver Chris\'s RX-7). :Viking
To Malcolm, Aston, Crissy, Chris, Tom and Jim for all the banter on track and off - the passenger rides and the hot laps - and helping each other out in the pit lane. :cheers
The car is of course the star. Beeping it in 4th at the end of Park straight (106!) and going into Coppice at over 100mph (hang on, try not to fall off the circuit!) and then carrying that speed through Charlies. The Gooseneck holding you in thrall with a will it/won\'t it moment as the ground falls away from you...
The pics are a mixture of professionally taken (Xtreme Sports Photography), Malcolm and myself throughout the day. I\'ve had a new 120-400mm zoom lens to play with, and I must admit to being very pleased with the results.

1. Massive thanks to everyone; Aston, Chris, Crissy, Ian, Jim & Tom for coming along to make the event a really enjoyable experience. Not just for the trackday itself (which was fantastic!), but for those of you who convoyed up/back with me, the company at the hotel bar and meals, etc. I\'ve never been in a Turkish restaurant before, so a new experience, and some very good nosh it was too!
2. I\'ll post up some pics and maybe some edited video (**) at the weekend - looks like I\'m going to be busy until then.
3. Just had a quick look at my in-car video and I managed a 1 min 57 sec lap, a couple of 1 min 58 sec laps and loads of 2 min laps. That\'s very much what I was doing back on June, so I\'m consistent at least. I\'ll have to work on my technique (and maybe some trackday tyres :D ) to knock off a few seconds next time - oh, yes, there will be a next time, sometime in 2011; "Cadwell, the return of the banzais"
5. I\'ll post up a thread about Oulton Park at the weekend, so the addicts can get the next fix booked soon :rolleyes:
