Title: Can anyone local(ish) unlock my PFC for my MOT?
Post by: probedb on August 12, 2010, 05:14:32 PM
Hi all,

I\'ve got an MOT coming up soon and need my PFC unlocking so I can get it through the emissions.

Can anyone local(ish) to me do this?

I\'m not interested in the map, just need to tweak the fuelling on the commander.

Ta :)
Paul.

you dont need to unlock it :S you just go in to pim voltage and reduce it by 50%

Oh cool, ta very much thought it needed to be unlocked. I know there were about 8(?) RPM bands where I could reduce something from 100% and was told just to do the top 2-3 I think but that was a couple of years ago.

Will give you a call in a bit :) Sounds like it should be ok though as the PIM voltage is what I know has been altered to pass it before so no need to unlock! I\'ll get an MOT booked in with Steve in a couple of weeks.

Hi Guys,

Please could someone help.

I know this is a rather old thread but I just need to check something with you.

I own a modified single UK RX7 FD and as a requirement of MOT, I\'ll need to do the idle, fast idle and with a cat fitted.

1. In the pim volts % do i just change 1000, 2000, 3000 rpm to cover these tests? I have done the 1000 and got down to around .3-5 Co @ 75% do I just do the same for 2000 and 3000?

2. And will the motor be ok and not DET whilst trying to move on and off the brake testers with these low fuel settings?

Cheers.

Yeah I seem to remember that\'s right. You\'re not revving it so it should be fine. But someone else may know more :)

The locking serves no purpose either.
