Hmmmm whats the best coilovers to go for? im not doing any track racing or anything, the main reason is to make it lower! so i have looked at lowering springs but they only lower up to 30mm! So i think im going to have to go for coilovers! i have seen like tein superstreet ones on ebay etc but dont have much idea waht to buy? can anyone help?:3Confused
I\'ve got the Superstreets on mine and along with the polybush replacement (if you can afford it in one go) completely transforms the car. I\'ve done a few trackdays and haven\'t adjusted them to a firmer ride as of yet because at this stage I probably don\'t have enough talent to benefit from adjustment.
if you can hold on till the end of the month and i can report back on HSD coilovers that i bought from driftworks.
My mates that have used them have nothing but good thing to say about them.
Fully adjustable in both height and dampening for...what I think is a very good price!
I have heard that HSDs are ment to be good, yes i will wait to see that you think of them. I dont want the car do be to hard on the road so that it bounces because the roads where i am aint that good!:reallymad so let me know how you get on with them!:yes
Nitron do excellent suspension, but probably more expensive.
I\'m pretty sure Speedline imports has some height adjustable Cusco coilovers still for sale?
If you want some second hand I have some bilstein coilovers (height adjustable but not damper) for sale
don\'t buy Super Streets, they don\'t have enough adjustment in them if you want to go really low, plus you can only move the spring seats so you have to remove spring preload to lower the ride height.
i had Tein SS, i\'ve just bought some Master Flex for the front to get a bit lower.
I would be happy with just lowering springs for now, does anyone know where i could get a set that would lower it mabie 60mm or more? if not then its going to have to be coilovers!
HSD\'s are awesome coilovers. Usually id recommend them but if you dont want something too harsh id go for tein\'s. not to harsh but pretty pricey
the thing is, what ones would be best on crap roads!? lol. Because the roads where i am aint very good!:Grrr
Teins are known for usually using super hard spring ratings 10/8kg. My teins are super stiff on the hard dampener setting but the soft is quite nice. Its a pity i cant run them low enough for me so im gonna sell mine when i get some cash together
ive not driven on HSDs before but i believe their spring ratings are much lower like 6/4kg, id say they were your best bet or meisterR they both very good value coilovers
The bilsteins I have are awesome for rubbish roads.
Not harsh and not too soft that the car would rub over potholes.
how much you looking for the bilsteins?
What\'s your email add buddy?
Set of HSDs on ebay that im thinking about, how low can you lower with hsds? are they not to bad to fit?
I have meister r coilovers on mine and they are pretty good on crap roads (counrty lanes everywhere) and i still have room for adjustment in stiffness and height. With the 18" wheels on i cant take them as low as they go or they scrub so should get it low enough for you www.meisterr.co.uk (http://www.meisterr.co.uk) The owner lives near me and he does know his stuff.
Ohlins are good but I don\'t have one set for sale :)
the best coilovers are the oem boshua or sumthing like that
they came in fd\'s close to 2000 or mayb 99.. do a lil research.. u will find them
these are the best coilovers if u want ride comfortability ... smoothness, handling
and plus they drop ur car about an inch and i guess thats the most u ever wana drop unless u making a show car

Have been bit delayed with weather work etc to get the car running. So haven\'t tried them out yet.
In reference to how low they go and how easy they are to fit:
This is pics when I was messing about, his is as low i got without tyre touching arch, and this has still got 2.5" of thread left!

Cheers bud, they need a good refurb, toying with making the backgroung face the same purple as my nuts, but we will see!
no itll ruin them keep em shiney look mint
Also worth a mention. You might wanna get a bump steer kit if you\'re planning on going really low. Maybe something to sort out the rear camber too.
Thats the hsds fitted! not had a chance to test them yet because of snow! thay were very easy to fit, i dont have them set to low just yet :Giggle
