the whining is getting louder by the day. Ive had it welded for a year and its been fine. It just started whining in the last month or so, and it been getting louder and loud. Ive been told it could be some bearings getting too hot and if they overheat it could seize. Chnaged the oil in it today and it stopped for about 30 mins, now its back to its old tricks
Did you get a diff sorted?
Mine was whining allot after a recent rebuild and it turned out to be the pinion shaft bearings were fecked.
Could always try putting some molyslip into your diff oil to see if that will kill the noise?
think i was told those bearings were going. I changed the oil. Turned out it hadbeen filled way past the level, and there was loads of crud and build up in there. Changing it made it alot quieter but its slowly getting loud again. Tbh I\'m going to have to take it out and have a propper look, ive got another welded one in a case to go in anyway so i might just swp them. Though my old one was leaking from the half shaft seals, it was fully spraying diff oil around rather than dripping. Could be because of the excess oil though, who knows

To be honest mate the nature of my job is such that I never know when i\'m about hence not at rotorstock this weekend. but I can always leave it with the wife if you wanna pop by next week.
