Title: Front speaker brackets??
Post by: <--rYaN--> on May 25, 2004, 11:05:41 AM
Just come to replace my front speakers which i assume a few of you have and i have run into a problem. The stock speaker uses 3 screws in a triangular pattern, but the new speakers use 4 screws in a square pattern (4 corner) , is there an adaptor plate i can get here in the uk like this crutchfield one available in the states??

If i remember rightly the plastic is quite thick, could you not just drill it at the four points and fix it with screws?

wish that was possible, but the screws are as thick as the plastic, so wouldnt be able to drill a hole and screw it in securely without going through the side :(

try mdf rings. 12mm or 18mm used them on mine and they fit like a glove. also you can measure them to exactly fit the existing oes and also to aviod hitting the door card.

Cheers
