We hopefully have 2 more recruts going to Rotorstock after being at the Barnet RX-8OC Meet last night :Giggle
I made that 3 Nigel... and hopefully they didn\'t just say yes so that we would let them go home in peace... :D
So do tell who else have you press ganged in to coming.
Crissy perhaps it\'s worth sending them a PM :Typing
I will pm them if they don\'t confirm soon... :)
I\'m in at last. Got a pass out for a Saturday :Thumbs-up which is fairly unusual as I normally have to take the wife to see her little boy (he\'s actually 32) play football.:D
I cant come I am in V fest that weekend working.
I\'ll be there!
Having chatted to a few people on Sunday at Japfest 2 it looks as if we might have a few more 8s coming we\'ve got 18 on the list(over on the RX8OC) with 12 having paid up so it\'s looking good.
Yes I will be attending and Chris231 will be in convoy with me:Thumbsup!

Thats bad news V.
Thought we could have done the garage seeing as we didn\'t at Japfest2:rollin
Great to meet and catch up with so many RX-8 owners today. :Thumbs-up
Rotorstock was good this year & was nice seeing the usual crowd & also meeting Ann for the first time :D
A pity there may not be a Rotorstock 8 next year :(
Unsure where to post this...
hopefully the moderators wont move it :spank
Thanks to Clive & Lisa for organising today

now have a spot thats getting softer for a late model RX7
hopefully Clive can educate me further
cheers
You\'re making me blush guys. :o
So which RX-8 got the best time on the sprint circuit? Did they let Robbie claim his first couple of runs??
My fav pic:
Robbie won it in the end with an outstanding 40.15 seconds :D
btw, good to meet you Jim. Apologies to Ann, I saw you as you arrived and were busy polishing the car but never got to introduce myself and have a chat as once I made my way to the sprint circuit that became my "home" for the rest of the day! Same goes to Nigel, I saw you briefly and was expecting to see you go round the sprint circuit but it never happened.
I also had a great time at Rotorstock as I always have done and it was great to catch up with new and old friends.
Big thanks to Clive & Lisa and all the others that help in the running of what was a great day.

No worries. After I got all the bugs off my car we did spend a good couple of hours at the MRC stand gassing. :Giggle
I saw you guys over at the sprint circuit - looked like fun but I\'d probably have gone the wrong way!
Robbie\'s time was very impressive! Puts my slick shod 41.1 seconds to shame!
It was great day all round good to see so many RX8 taking part
Paul

And You....:wave
hair all OK :Thumbs-up
Yes, indeed - the keratine treated hair survived the day and is still straight. who do I thank for giving us good weather after all? :D
Ann: we all went the wrong way at least once, in my case several times!! LOL it\'s all part of the fun.
Sorry guys I decided not to do the Sprint Circuit,as didn\'t want to loose Tyre Tread,as can\'t afford new tyres at the moment, seeing I have bought a new car :2Rolleyes
It was nice just relaxing under the Gazebo, chatting during the afternoon & finding out things etc........ :Giggle
Left Rotorstock just after 4pm as had 2.5hr drive home & a early start at work this morning :(
I did drive up to see how things were going before driving home & saw one of Paul\'s lap\'s :)
Superb day out; many thanks & congratulations to Clive and Lisa for organsing this event (again!). I loved the new format with the sprint circuit.
Even better that I managed to keep my the leader board throughout the day!
Quote from: GreySilver Beast;712274Sorry guys I decided not to do the Sprint Circuit,as didn\'t want to loose Tyre Tread
Nigel, as we proved during our runs, the quickest way round was to drive very, very smoothly. Doubt if any noticeable tread was lost on a few 45 second runs if you drove this way. You should have had a go, it really was massive fun.
I didn\'t have any tread on my tyres to start with :)
Apparently I needed to get far more temp in them to get the best performance. Still it was good fun!
Really just what all the others have said. reasonable weather (well it didn\'t rain much and the sun came out a few times) The sprint track was great and of my three runs I didn\'t get it right even once. :Giggle
The route I took was even more demanding as it involved a 180 around an oil drum. :wiggle Wish I had gotten on the circuit in the morning as by the afternoon session the world and his wife were there queueing up.:Grrr
Robbie was always odds on to win as he drove smoothly and the FI gave the smooth delivery of extra oommph when needed. The 8\'s were always in the running, even the N/A cars of Malcolm, Will, etc. were besting those trying too hard. Paul was only handicapped by driving my car and Crissy posted respectable times also :Thumbsup! (just leave braking a bit later). But then who am I to talk, as I didn\'t even post a halfway respectable time. :spank
The drive home along the A507 was more to my liking except for the tractors. :Grrr
Like Crissy spent most of my time at the sprint circuit and so did not get to spend too much time other than with the usual crowd. (You know who you are). Thanks to all for the organisation and if anyone can find a suitably large area of smooth tarmac I am sure that we can steal, sorry borrow, sufficient cones and some emulsion to mark out our own circuit. :3gears-rh
Was great watching you guys in to morning. Did get on in the Afternoon but the FB isn\'t very quick. Was well chuffed with my 46.41 on the last chance single lap (2nd time out)
Shaun
glad to see you all had a good time i wish i could of attended with the 8. but it wont be back on the road till September:2Rolleyes as its having another heart transplant after a Mazda dealer :flamedkilled it:Grrr
what happend to the interclub competition?
Quote from: rote8;712309The drive home along the A507 was more to my liking except for the tractors. :Grrr
That\'s the 507 for you - and if it\'s not tractors it\'s lorries crossing over between the A1 and M1.

I thought you\'d sold your RX-8 Tony - or is this another one?
You missed a great day and you would have loved some of the topics of conversation - in fact were your ears burning?? :Giggle
Quote from: rote8;712309Crissy posted respectable times also :Thumbsup! (just leave braking a bit later). But then who am I to talk, as I didn\'t even post a halfway respectable time. :spank
yeah, I was pleased with my times, especially because during my last lap in the afternoon I went round almost 2 seconds quicker than my best lap in the morning :chat
wish I could have gone round many more times and I have been looking around for areas of smooth tarmac that we could use but no such things available thanks to health and safety, licencing, insurance, etc. :(

As Ann said I thought you had sold your 8 although it did give me a chance to win this :D.

BEST RX-8
ROTORSTOCK 7
Presented by MRC
:wiggleREALLY WELL DONE MATE:wiggle
One suggestion.... so that you can retain the title next year - maybe you should do something to make the Rex stand out a little more from the crowd.:Giggle
