Driving home last night and was doing about 60 and then i hear a clunk noise and loads of smoke out the back and the engine cut out and switched it back on and wont barley turn over and kicking out lots of smoke. every time i pulled up at lights etc engine cut out.
just started her and ticks over at about 0.1k - 0.3k and coughs and spluts :(
i guess i know what this means
and only after getting her back on the road for 4 days, after engine fire and spending out on new bits :(
Hmmm, the black smoke bit lends itself to perhaps being just the map sensor having popped off. If not it sounds fairly terminal :(
Map sensor is a small black widget bolted to the bulkhead in the engine bay, just back and right from the plenum. There should be a vacuum hose going to it - see if its still hooked up - hopefully its just dangling - pop it back on and hey presto.
If map sensor is connected....get it taken some where so some one in the know can take a look.
Nath,
Sorry to hear of your troubles.
And it was running so well at the weekend.
I have everything crossed for you that it\'s the map sensor hose.
Good Luck,
Richard
Yeah was running really well on saturday down and back to japfest no sort of tell tell signs :(
im gonna check this snsor now :)
