I grabbed this when I was picking some leads up at Rotechnics a couple of weeks ago. Although they do change and other offer different prices, should give ya a "rough" guide

here\'s the link (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robert.pogmore/service2.jpg)  if it\'s slow :)

thanks matey. seems almost too reasonable! ;)

trying to be \'sensible\' and weigh up all these little things before i take the plunge and buy a rex...although if i\'m still thinking about it after being told i\'m looking at £3500 to insure the thing i\'m not so sure being sensible comes into it! :D

PLEASE go on an advanced driving course, that involves rear wheel drive cars!!!!  It\'ll probably cost a few quid, but I don\'t know anyone on here who\'s not had an \'off\' in their car (inc me), and it tends to happen fairly soon after getting the car.  It really is a true sports car, but (I\'m trying to sound as unpatronising as poss) with only 6 months driving experience probably only in front wheel drive cars, there are aspects of the 7 that will definitely catch you out.

It may cost, but will almost certainly save you cash in the long run by saving your no claims bonus, and potentially the cost of a new car.

I know of at least 4 guys on this forum who\'ve written off 1 rx-7 and bought another, and they are all good sportscar drivers!

I also know another few who\'ve been unlucky within a month of ownership...

echo above was always my plan to kill Jap rubber round Bruntingthorpe with Don Palmer but stupidly put it off thru expense etc & well lets just say i\'ve been 2 months without it now :(
Si (slightly older & wiser but probably still sounding like a patronising muppet! ;))

no no, it doesn\'t sound patronising in the slightest...more like good advice from people in the know. i can imagine it must be a very very different experience from driving FR, and i\'d love to get myself on an advanced course or something similar.

on the subject, does anyone know of such a thing? a trackday or two would help, but i\'d really like something with a bit more tuition with regards the car, not with regards getting quicker laps!:)

as always, thank you for the input and advice, it is very much appreciated! :)

I PM\'d Clive a couple of weeks ago about trying to organise some sort of driver training for RX\'s in the hope that there might be some way to tie this up and increase club discounts on insurance.  He replied with a number and the name of a guy he\'d started talking to an suggested contacting him to organise something but understandably Rotorstock is taking up all his time at the mo.

I\'m knee deep in trying to complete a masters degree and hold down a full time job so it\'s on the shelf for me at the moment, but you might want to pick up with Clive and get the contact info.

If you get anything organised, please post or PM.  I\'d be interested in knowing what sort of money is involved as I\'d like to get more out of the car.  am still a bit careful with it despite having driven RWD for a while.  I\'d like to find a safe place (and way if there is such a thing) to explore the limits.

I\'m sure there are probably others who might be interested as well.

That sounds like a really good idea. I\'ll PM Clive now, and see if i can get the contact info.

I\'m also pretty tied up right now, but i\'ll get in touch with everyone over the next few days if i have any luck. It\'d also serve as a great way for everyone involved to meet up, and maybe share hints, tips and experiences with regards to driving.

thanks for the heads-up, i\'ll keep you posted!:)

Good luck mate.

If you get anything organised local to you, and have opening for others to join, then let me know.  Am originally from Aberdeen so (finances and workload permitting) with enough notice I could possibly work out a trip to WGT, advanced driver training around Glasgow and then mosey on up to Aberdeen.

Kinda hoping to get up there in mid July for the old boys birthday, but it\'s an expensive drive with the gas mileage on a REX so will have to see.

OK Gregor...i\'ll let you know as soon as i find anything out. I PM\'d Clive a little while ago, hopefully i\'ll be able to use any info he can give me to put something together.

WGT would be a top destination for sure. i wonder if it would be more convenient for everyone if the course is in england somewhere.

i for one would happily make the drive down, be worth it for getting to WGT soon after purchasing the beasty and also to get some good advice re. driving it.

fingers crossed! :)
