Title: Rad Cap pressure?
Post by: Prof on July 16, 2010, 07:15:46 AM
I\'ve got a new Godspeed radiator that\'s going on the car at the weekend, as my Chineese one is leaking.

The rad cap that came with it is 0.9, whereas the one I have on the ASI is 1.1, and I\'ve seen 1.2 and 1.3 caps as well.

Obviously these allow you to run higher pressures and hence get more out of the cooling system, but with a koyo sized rad / U flow pattern, will the 0.9 be adequate for spirited street driving and occasional drag use?

Before the ASI rad started leeking, it was maintaining low 80\'s and just hitting 100 when really pushing it - that\'s with the 1.1 cap.  The Godspeed is a similar size core (53mm), but I suspect has better flow characteristics.

Anyone had any experience of Godspeed\'s ?

Are you sure?  They seem well respected on the rx7club site - not heard from that source that these are Chineese.

Lot\'s of things are respected on RX7club, and lots are slated - doesn\'t seem to neccessarily ring true with people\'s experiences over here unfortunately :(

Godspeed are rebranded generica - they put their labels on everything from suspension arms and coilovers, to manifolds, intercoolers and turbos. Not neccessarily bad stuff, just don\'t be under any illusion that it\'s anything otehr than mass produced far eastern stuff.
