You too can look like a complete dickhead outside mcdonalds carpark on a saturday night, guaranteed to impress chavs.
It,s a flame thrower for your exhaust:evillaugh
What about a group buy?:2Rolleyes
ta...
Corsa fit only? Or will any little yuff box accept it?
And a Question? Will they buy this rather than paying to have that dud headlight bulb changed. I know which I think is more important.
I seem to be able to make flames without that gizzmo!
me too, didn\'t 1st gens come with factory fitted flame throwers as standard?
Quote from: myatt1972;704788I seem to be able to make flames without that gizzmo!
Me too, the corsa squad love my car when it goes through town on overrun.
"Oi mate where did you get that flamer kit from"
"The Total garage-comes out of a green pump"
Cue confused faces, sometimes even a dropped alchopop.
Its the bang in the winter when you just pop around the corner and turn the engine off that always gets them jumping ......
Don`t take the pis but i nearly brought one of those fake nitrous purge thingy!
The theory behind the madness was girls in short dresses walking along the path then suddenly..... i know, forgive me.:Ladys-man
& what about those turbo dump valves which go pssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
When i was 18[long time ago] i had a 1.6 capri,i fitted a fake chrome exhaust tip,so it looked like a twin exhaust 3 litre capri!!
Problem was,it did,nt make the car go faster & blue oily exhaust smoke only came from 1 exhaust!
I won\'t start on fluorescent tubes fitted under cars for nightime posing,*snigger*

Thats a very embarassing secret mate, take it to the grave! lol
I used to terrorize mc donalds car park in an rs turbo with my baseball cap back to front......... i don`t tell many people that.
The RS Turbo is forgivable mate don\'t worry about that we\'ve all been there! My supercar back in the day in a feeble (and mostly ignored) quest to impress the laydeeeees was a Renault 5 GT Turbo and I gotta say for the 5 minutes it existed without blowing a head gasket it was one of the best 5 minutes I\'ve ever had!
And yes Stu I also had a dump valve so guilty as charged.:flamed
Great times, never wore a cap though so fail on that account.
I bet they\'ve sold loads! Came free with Max power one month :-)
Mine spits flames sometimes. Must be my straight through exhaust.
Got to love fake dump valves aswell.
Hey steady on my dump valve was real, I wasn\'t that much of a ricer lol.

Ah yes, the R5 gt turbo.... never lasted more than 50,000 miles without a major rebuild.
Everyone I knew who had one loved the accelleration until the engine blew up... which was always sooner rather than later.
My favourite hot hatch was the Peugeot 1.9gti, had loads of them, a great car to drive and no temperamental turbos to blow up. Not many left now in nice original condition and I can\'t remember seeing a R5 GT turbo on the road for years and years.
I\'d love to have been in Renaults R&D session when they decided to do the GTT
"we \'ave tiny car and we make it go zoomzoom?"
Engineer say "aah zis is easy, we "ave 1.4 pushrod engine and ze carbs-this is easy we just attach big turbo yes?"
Rapturous applauding all round, then they get drunk.
It was great fun but after doing the head gasket for the second time I thought it was time to buy something even more unreliable and bought a Lancia Delta HF. Glutton for punishment me.
With you on the Pug front-great fun per £, my brother had a couple and he never stopped smiling. A friend of mine has a track prepped one with GTI6 lump which is something akin to a ride at alton towers. Like you said though-not many originals left now.
Can old boys join in, mine was a 1970 Datsun (510) 1300, having blown the engine, managed to fit a 1800 sss engine in it. used to have some great duels with Capris, I remember one time leaving a Honda S800 covered in black smoke when he blew his engine, Still that was in the early 70,s before all these turbos were on the road.
Some nice cars, owned by peeps.Loved the Renault 5 GT turbo & the Lancia turbo\'s,always wanted a lancia monte carlo, but tooooooooo many bucks.
Worst car i ever had was my mums Austin Allegro,a mighty 1.3 from memory, hydro spastic suspension,a square steering wheel & worst of all it was a french mustard colour!
It was embarassing driving it,thanfully the engine blew up after 4 months of my careful ownership:3gears-rh:Nono!
Love the Montecarlo\'s there is a lime green one up t\'other end of town.
One day I will own a HF Stratos in full AirItalia livery though-I just have to.
As for the Allegro Stu, after "fake tailpipegate" I\'d have kept that under my hat!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
I loved the Montecarlo as well.... got put off by the fact it was a Lancia, which as we know, is Italian for rust!
Gorgeous design though, looks a bit like a 308 which is one of my favourite cars.
A mate of mine had a Montecarlo, had to run round with a bag of cement in the front to make it perform ....................

Blimey Stu, that sounds horrible! What a crap car they were!
I learnt to drive in my dads M reg Maxi in that mustard colour, a pathetic excuse of a car. Thankfully the gearbox went for the 1,000 time and he changed it for a MK4 Cortina just before I passed my test.
Thank god for that!
The only good thing about the Maxi was that it folded out into a double bed but at the age of 17, it was beyond my powers of persuasion to coax even the most desperate bird into a Maxi!!
It\'s a shame Lancia didn\'t learn they\'re lesson with the Gamma which were known to be rotton through by 3 years old. A good friend of mine is veeeeeery passionate about Lancia\'s and has a 1981 Beta 2000 HPE which his Dad completely stripped and zinc plated back in the mid 90\'s and passed on too him-I\'m pretty confident it is one of few in it\'s current condition! They tend to stick to family cars now I think, long gone are the days of conquering the world with the Delta S4 (pre turbo supercharging-what lag!?!!) which is sad as regardless of rust they still new how to make hell of a car.

Haha, the Austin Aggro, all i can say about it,was it was comfortable, because i was lying down driving it,so nobody saw me!:Giggle

Funny coincidence that,i never pulled a bird in my L reg Austin Allegro either!
Not even a pig ugly one:Giggle
That mustard colour will never come back into fashion.

Yeah a genuine one would set you back a fair bit-there is a complete kit available though which uses either an Alfa V6 or for those who have got de monies a Ferrari V6 to keep faithful to the original. That one on Top Gear was a kit-I think Sir Clarkson said that was £12K plus engine which I think is not bad for the amount of charisma and grin factor they have. Plus I daresay a kit variant would be built better!

.
I had a 1964 Hillman Imp, absolutely great for zipping round in. Quite big inside and quiet too, Main problem being that you needed a bag of cement or a bail of straw in the boot - well actually in the front - so that it would hold the road.
I drew away from a garage once and as I wound the window up it came out of its runners and finished up on my lap..... we laughed that much I had to pull over before I crashed.
The other main issue was that Chrysler built the gearbox and fitted a 50p threaded stud which was coupled to the gear selector - bl**dy twice that stud sheared, once in York and my future father-in-law came out after finishing work and towed me back @ 70 MPH on motorway (he fogot he was towing me) - talk about a white knuckle drive s**t! It would cost £40 plus back in the early 70s and I an apprentice earning less than £20 a week then. After the 2nd time I got shut quick.
I used to go and watch hillclimbs with my mum and grandad and there used to be loads of Imps there-stick a set of knobblys on and they go anywhere!

Haha, yeah how chav is that,we\'ll do a group order as demand is sure to be high:Giggle
