Can anyone offer any help/advice regarding the removal of the drive shafts?
The drive shaft oil seals in the diff need replacing and I\'ve been having a bit of a \'mare getting the shafts out. The service manual says a small pry bar may be required. I\'ve tried a small one and a bloody great 4 foot long one with no luck :Grrr.
I thought a bearing splitter might do the job, however a couple of friends recommended a slide hammer. I\'d appreciate some advice before buying yet more tools.
Cheers, Mike.
Put a small amount of pressure on it with the pry bar and at the same time tap the flange with a hammer, it will pop out.
Before you take the shaft out make sure there is no play in the diff.

Mine needed a heck of a lot of force - I used a crowbar :D
Sometimes two pry bar\'s a hammer and a bacon butty is required.
Even pressure on each side with the pry bars and a tap.
Im having the exact sam problem with mine & it isnt budgin for s**t & i mean not goin anywhere, have ahad my 6\'4 foot friend helping me with various bars, massive crowbars, hammbers & brute force!?!
You have removed the drive shaft from the wheel hub ?
Ha :s yes i have. Had only had them out a coulpe of weeks before as well so strange how they have got so tight in there.
Well just make sure there is the same pressure on both sides of the drive shaft or it will just jam itself in there, iv never really had a problem.
My driveshaft always comes out easiy. Can\'t imagine what could possibly be holding it. Provided the bolts are pulled out. haha
It\'s probably one of the easiest parts to remove.... i just tap it down and give it a tug.
