Title: Can bad Supspension cause Prop-Shaft rubbing?
Post by: boomin on May 23, 2004, 04:03:50 PM
Hello,

I\'ve got a 1992 efini (manual).  when you accelerate hard you get this continuous Ttthddddrrrmmpping sound.  Sounds kinda like its coming from the middle.. or towards back of car.

Someone told me my rear suspension needs replacing and its the rear end sagging during acceleration that causes some sort of rubbing..

Does this make sense to any of you??  anyone have any better suggestions.. other than "get another transimission"

Any good places in the Berkshire area to get it to that can tell me?

Thanks,

Boomin

Hey!! thanks for the feedback.  I\'ll keep you posted. You guys are great.

Most likely you have a cracked power plant frame.  The suspension has nothing to do with the drive shaft.

I agree with Igy, the powerplant frame cracked or loose is the most likely cause,   this is the girder that runs between the Diff and the Gearbox, your looking for four securing bolts at the front and five on the rear end.

Hope this helps.
