Title: Lost boost after damaging backbox
Post by: dj_dee99 on July 01, 2010, 05:49:13 PM
A couple of weeks ago my backbox got ripped right off by a speed bump :(
Now I\'ve bought and fitted another box, but I now have no boost?

Anybody have any ideas what might have caused this? Does the Apexi have a limp mode? Was thinking if it does, then maybe it switched to limp mode when the backbox was off, as I had to drive it home without the box on.

afaik the Apexi doesn\'t have a limp mode, but in any case there\'s no way a backbox would do anything to the ECU.

it could just be a coincidental thing (boost hose popping off or something) but an impact strong enough to tear your backbox off might have damaged something further up the exhaust system... might be worth taking the whole lot off and checking it? the only thing i can think of is if you\'ve somehow managed to yank the turbo pack or manifold out of position and there\'s a leak.

Turns out it actually was coincidental...... A pipe had come off the intercooler. Lol. Kinda mad that it must have happened at more or less the same time!
